Took a road trip up along the Sunshine Trail and happened upon this little gem of a spot. Highly recommend visiting if you find yourself in that beautiful part of the province! The shop smelled incredible and I found an array of lavender goodies. I'm actually excited to learn they have a shop here at home, at the Halifax Farmer's Market 🙂

I literally love all their products including the culinary! I buy bulk orders and their products are natural as well as unique with lovely scents of lavender. The shipping is fast and the packaging is professional. Highly recommend!

What a marvelous place to visit when the lavender fields are in full bloom. It is amazing to see and enjoy the wonderful fragrance drifting through the air. There is a wonderful gift store with numerous products made using the lavender blossoms. Guests can also pick/cur their own bouquet, a wonderful souvenir to take home.

Welcoming owners share knowledge on various lavender types. Fields offer photo ops. Gift shop, filled with fragrant lavender products (also found at many markets), is the highlight!

Probably the most friendly staff I have ever met in Nova Scotia. Great place for all your lavender needs. Picked up many things from the Farm Store. Can't wait to try them out. We will be back again. Great hospitality. 👍👍

I loved this place so much. All the fields of lavender where so wonderful to walk through, smell, and see all the bees hard at work. The large sitting area is nice to sit in the shade for a few minutes. The store is very lovely and smells amazing. Lots of different soaps and scrubs and just endless things. Staff was beyond the best. He was so friendly and informational. Hope you guys have anothet great 11 years!

A secret gem full of country charm. Greeted by friendly staff. Shop is well stocked and very affordable. Gardens are beautiful and the lavender farm is picturesque. Great stop on a road trip and is highly recommended. Will visit again.

Affordable family fun. We live about 20 minutes away and went for the first time this summer. It’s very beautiful and relaxing. For 7$ you can get a lot of lavender. They also make a lot of their own products like hand sanitizer, soap, lotion, bath bombs and much more. Beautiful facilities and grounds are well maintained.

Emma D — Google review

Such a serene experience being able to walk among the honey bees and the lavender plants. A great spot to snap some gorgeous pictures if you're into photography like myself. As soon as we stepped out of the car we were greeted by a lovely staff member who welcomed us and gave us a small rundown on where everything was located. The parking is great, some shady spots to sit and enjoy the view as well as some other benches/chairs set up around the property. The small shop was stocked full of mouth watering lavender products and they have testers out ready to be used. Got a balm, fresh dried lavender, mango spice tea, chai tea, and the insanely gorgeous hand woven lavender tote bag, I could not leave without the bag. Already tried the teas at home, delicious flavours with a tiny hint of fresh lavender right from the fields. We did miss out on lavender honey which I was so sad about cause I'm obsessed with honey but the beautiful views, kind staff, and feeling of pure bliss made up for it. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Bronwyn W — Google review

Same as someone else. Can't have your pets there even on leach. Owner says because of insurance and health authorities which is a bunch of malarkey I think. Hope the deer don't come around and poo.

Restaurant

Sugar Moon Farm is a farm that produces maple syrup and hosts special events throughout the year with chefs. They have a great brunch which gets pretty busy so get there early! The best part about the restaurant is their maple butter - it's delicious!

We booked a Full tour for my daughter's birthday. The staff were amazing and very friendly. The tour was full of knowledge and went well above expectations. The sugar on snow was nostalgic and traditional. This is a well hidden gem that is well worth booking as much as you can in advance. The food choices are preference friendly with many great options.

LuricRaja2 — Google review

I love it here. I've hiked the mountain a few times with my dog (who I pick up after, including the bag..!!!) and it's worth the climb! The views are beautiful and you'll get your exercise! The trail goes up the mountain and then loops back down to the farm. The food is delicious, especially the maple butter and biscuits! So many people have posted reviews about the pancakes and while I agree they aren't my favourite item on the menu (because I'm not a huge fan of whole wheat pancakes), everything else is delicious and it is so worthwhile to go! We recently did the Maple Magic tour and there was lots of interesting information, and the sugar on snow was so fun! Highly recommend.

Amanda R — Google review

Had a great time reuniting with friends for brunch at Sugar Moon, such a lovely place and great walking/hiking trails around the surrounding woods. Recco proper hiking shoes if you'll be doing the 6km loop!

B L — Google review

We had Brunch at Sugar Moon Farm last Saturday. We got a little tour of the maple shack before Brunch. Food was amazing we had the Chef Special and it was delicious. If you are in the area this is a must visit. Quick, friendly service as well.

Daniel V — Google review

Start iff hiking Rogart Mountain trail from Sugar Moon parking lot (6.4 km) through lush silver birch and Maple forest. Stop at Janes waterfall to dip your head. Then hit the SugarMoon to learn about making Maple syrup. Its a log cabin complete with stone fire place and wood carvings. Eat their pancakes, etc... All with fresh syrup.

Aaron D — Google review

We booked a tour of the sugar house and learned first hand how maple syrup is made. We also got to taste their four varieties (early, early-mid, late-mid, and late season) as well as their maple butter. We also go the maple on snow experience - yummy! The tour was great and we have never tasted such great maple syrup. Delicious!

Markus B — Google review

Lovely staff who treat their guests with pleasure and take the time to explain their maple syrup process. There were a few different options for food and they were very accommodating. Maple butter (and all the other maple infused dishes) was something I never knew I needed before visiting Sugar Moon.

Akbar B — Google review

We decided to adventure out to this place for Family Day. After reading some other reviews, we planned to hike before breakfast and rent snowshoes. Today was the most beautiful day to go - the sun was shining, there was a fresh blanket of snow, and the views on the 6.2km hike were worth every effort. The trails are exceptionally well marked, and it is very evident that they are groomed often. Breakfast was good; the pancakes were not what we are used to. But the maple butter, biscuits and beans were so delicious. Staff were quick and friendly! Overall, a good experience. We will be back!A few tips - the parking lot fills up quickly, so you may have to park along the road. I would recommend passing the parking lot and then parking - so it doesn't block the road in. Definitely register your name on the waitlist for breakfast before you go on the hike - by the time we were done the hike (approx 2 hours), we were at the top of the list and walked right in to a table. Also - check the weather before you go. I can't stress this enough. We were very overdressed today and wish we had come more prepared. Also - take water!!

Ashlan P — Google review

Beautiful spot before snowshoeing in the woods. If you're going to eat make sure you get there before 2pm and if possible make a reservation because the place get's pretty busy. Buy the maple butter, it's the best!

Monica R — Google review

This little place is so cozy, warmed by a fireplace that will leave a lingering scent of relaxation on you afterward. I had the pancake breakfast with bacon & beans. Everything was delicious, the service was lovely and Mike in the kitchen went the extra mile to crush some ice and make some maple syrup sticks! A memorable experience - look forward to going back :) bought some maple syrup from the giftshop (purchased a few as gifts) and can't wait to share the love! Thanks Sugar Moon farm!!

Katy M — Google review

Would not go back. 26 dollars for 3/4 of a waffle with an egg on top and one sausage. I left hungry. Not even a full waffle!!! I source my own groceries locally and know they are not priced like this, even with a hefty markup. Portion to price ratio is the worst I've had in NS. The food tasted good, but was simply way too small. Owner gonna comment back on this stating the prices are so high because it's all local, you need a better price negotiator then with the local farmers and butchers :) nice bit of profit though turning an old camp into a Michelin restaurant.

D M — Google review

My visitors and I took the Sugar Camp Tour and Tasting and had a wonderful time! The owner, Quita, was lovely, welcoming, inclusive and patient (we had questions!). The team clearly run the place with wholesome, ethical practice and lots of love! My 18-year old brother and friends enjoyed their visit from England, thanks again :)

Emily T — Google review

Excellent place to see how to tap and process maple syrup. The food is delicious, everything has a maple syrup ingredient. Pancakes are made with stone ground flour. Great outing for a day. Very interesting and delicious.

Victoria Park is a true gem in the heart of the city. The lush green trees and beautiful waterfalls create a peaceful oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of daily life. I always feel rejuvenated after a visit to this park and highly recommend it to anyone in need of a little nature therapy. The walking trails are well-maintained and offer a variety of scenic routes to choose from. Overall, Victoria Park is a must-see for anyone visiting the area.

This is one of the greatest parks in the area and (in our opinion) the province - it just has so many amazing features like: hills, lookouts, staircases, gazebos, waterfalls, gorges, creeks and rivers, numerous trails, picnic areas, exercise area, and sports/play fields! Definitely worth visiting multiple times just due to the amount of various activities possible.

**Great Park with Stunning Features**Victoria Park is a fantastic destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. It boasts a large playground and a designated barbecue area, making it ideal for picnics and gatherings. The park features an extensive trail path perfect for hiking, offering breathtaking views of the amazing waterfront. Whether you're looking to enjoy a day out with the kids or take in the natural beauty, Victoria Park has something for everyone.

Omezine T — Google review

This park is about 130 years old. It’s a beautiful well maintained urban woodland park spans across 3000 acres. It has many boardwalks. These boardwalks make waterfalls Waddell and Howe are easily accessible and provide an exciting backdrop for photos of family and friends. It has washrooms but this park is not very wheelchair friendly.Very tall pine trees and lots of squirrels and birds. It has a good parking lot and many entrances. If you are looking for some workout, you might wanna check out Jacob's ladder(147 steps) and some pull up bars at the top. All steps aren't the same size. It is open all year, but late spring and early summer would be ideal time to visit this park, as water levels would be at its highest. It is about a one and half hour drive from downtown Halifax. It's a beautiful and dynamic urban park. I love it for its natural features, including a dramatic steep-sided gorge, a winding river, cascading waterfalls, and a stately old-growth Eastern Hemlock forest. This place offers endless recreational, cultural and leisure opportunities. These include hiking, photography, birdwatching, day picnics, family gatherings, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, swimming, baseball, cultural events, live music, tennis, cycling and more.If you are in Nova Scotia, and if you are a nature lover, I highly recommend going there.

Nishtha R — Google review

Very well kept, be prepared for a lot of stairs if you want to explore the whole park. A lot of different trails you can explore. Cannot believe how beautiful and well kept the overall park is for the amount of people who visit. Climbing the stairs and walking along the trails up top have awesome views rather than just walking down below. Atleast two waterfalls to be seen as well.

Bri — Google review

Enjoyed the hike despite the cloudy drizzling weather. Visited Joe Howe Falls, the Waddell Falls and Wood Street Lookout. The path to Five Corners was closed today, so we didn’t get to see it. If we visit Truro again next time, we will come back to the park to explore the other areas.BTW, we were lucky to come across two deers during our hiking.

Kathy L — Google review

Beautiful park with loads and loads of different trails to walk. Some on hard ground, some on dirt, and some on timber walkways. Also some lovely little waterfalls with pools you can take a dip in. The grounds were beautifully maintained. A real hidden gem in the city.

This park turned out to be a real find on the way to Halifax. Big park where you can spend the whole day. The waterfalls were almost without water due to the dry season. But the area is very beautiful, well-groomed, with beautiful paths and stairs.

Excellent place for one day family trip. My kid enjoyed being there. I would say day spent well. Ample parking, maintained well. Toilets can be better.

Sathish S — Google review

Victoria Park is gorgeous. Beautiful well kept walking paths and lawns. Lots of picnic tables for families or couples. Picnic on the grass in shade along the streams running alongside the walkway. There's a swimming pool. Pickle balls courts, play areas for kids, music bandstand, BBQ area is covered and with screens to keep out the bugs! Oh wait! There's many trails to choose from along with Jacobs Ladder! I dare ya to try it 😁

BajaRVLiving — Google review

I did not expect this place to be so amazing because it’s in the middle of the city! They have tons of trails and they were pretty easy to navigate, well maintained so you can easily spend a whole day here. There are picnic tables out in front and some places to set up inside the park as well. I loved the loops and the hikes. They were unique despite being in the middle of an urban area. Must try the loop around the dam. 5/5 recommend. It also has a biking trail but we didn’t go on it.

Lei A — Google review

Our most recent guests at Hubtown Tours NS were very glad a trip to Victoria Park was included. They were amazed at Waddell Falls and the old-growth forest.

Fantastic Park.Spent the day there and it was Fantastic. We got to see a lot of different trails and waterfalls.

Always love walking the park. Lots of downed trees from the storms... some trails off limits until clean up can take place...but still a beautiful place...

Tina ( — Google review

Lovely park with waterfalls, hiking trails, a playground for kids, and lots of greenery. Short walk to the waterfalls that is mostly accessible, just near the end there are a few tree roots that make it a bit more challenging for pushing a stroller. Waterfalls are pretty nice, not the biggest in the world but fun to see. The kids playground has a lot of nice swings including an adult and child swing so you can swing together with your kiddo. Lots of parking here, bathrooms, and spots to picnic.

Marta B — Google review

Nice park for a stroll or picnic. Nicely maintained area & seems they are doing work on areas that have been closed off.

VN — Google review

This wonderful park, which has a beautiful stream and waterfalls, is perfect for a hike. While the damage from last year's post-tropical storm Fiona is still visible (see some of the pictures below), the gorgeous greenery is still quite impressive. You can also find a children's playground, tennis courts, baseball diamond, and outdoor pool at Victoria Park.

James C — Google review

RECOMMENDATIONS. It's a beautiful place. There is a lot of trails and benches.

Maria K — Google review

A wonderful park with picnic areas, trails, waterfalls & more

Anna-Marie B — Google review

Amazing park that's a must-see if passing through Truro. It's currently still recovering from last year's hurricane, so certain sections are closed off. But the beauty is still everywhere.

Lelo — Google review

One of the most beautiful parks in Nova Scotia. Almost has a B.C vibe. Trails are tight in some places so keep a good grip on your dogs.

Great place for trails. Amazing atmosphere and best place for picnic.

Pal R — Google review

Truly a beautiful park, all the boardwalks everywhere remind me of vancouver island. There is a ton of awesome trails to hike, multiple waterfalls and several neat bridges to cross! We come here with our dog all the time and have had no issues with anyone. Parking is never a problem either. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Mack B — Google review

Lovely park with no entry fee. You can get to the falls if you walk all the way to the end and avoid the stairs. The water looks pristine. Near the falls, you can actually go for a swim if you'd like. They just advise against diving or jumping.Note that the stairs are a single beam of wood. These are very thin stairs. Take your time going up and down. There are plenty of benches located throughout the park, so don't worry about needing to find a spot to catch your breath or to eat a snack.

Chris U — Google review

This place is Truro's best kept secret! What a lovely park with some lovely views of waterfalls. There are so many trail options that you could spend hours here. A few of the trails were damaged earlier this year in heavy rains so they were closed off until they can repair them, but even so, it was worth the time we took to stop and explore here. They also had lots of washrooms. Some of the stairs are a bit steep but they're not too bad if you just go slow and take your time.

Alisha G — Google review

Family came to visit and we heard good reviews about Victoria Park and decided to spend the morning. This park was very beautiful and quiet with scenic trails and wildlife. Wasn’t expecting to see waterfalls either! Really enjoyed the park and will be returning!

Nice park to take family or friends for the weekends or holidays. There are lots of play activities for the kids and the adults as well. There are some water falls along the park where the views are stunning but be careful of falling debre or trees. Good place for doing barbecue whilst enjoying the nature around.

Jost Vineyards, located on Northumberland Shore near Tatamagouche, is the largest and oldest winery in the province. It has won multiple awards and offers a variety of activities such as tastings, tours, meals at Seagrape Cafe, hikes or bike rides through the vines, and monthly events. In addition to its physical location, Jost Vineyards also offers online shopping with free shipping within the Maritimes and reduced rates elsewhere in Canada.

I had a lovely lunch at the vineyard. Being able to sit on the patio, enjoy the view and the weather was fantastic. The food options are not vast but the food was tasty. You can walk the vineyard if you’d like or find one of many chairs and relax. The shop area attendants are great. They offer free sampling and give sound recommendations.

Coming back for more of the BEST seafood chowder in Canada !We visited this place by accident 3 years ago on our way to PEI. Decided on a small lunch of chowder. The delicacy, flavour and content was so exquisite that we renamed their dish seafood with a bit of chowder. The excellent facility and wines offered are worth a side trip off the main highways.

NaPa — Google review

Prioritizes their profit over quality for their customers.I ordered 12 bottles of wine through their online shop. 6/12 bottles had the cork pop out and they leaked everywhere (prior to me picking up). I emailed customer service. They told me I should have monitored the temp across Canada when I ordered and would not resend or refund the ruined wine. I live in Duncan BC, which rarely goes below freezing. I did not see this note on their site but as they were advertising wine shipments across Canada I assumed they knew what they were doing and it would be okay. I’ve shipped live lobster and my family have sent out numerous packages of liquids from NS without any problems (in the winter months as well). I was so disappointed with the lack of support from their customer service. We emailed back and forth once but then I received no reply. Very careless. In my opinion the warning was not clear, they either shouldn’t be shipping in the winter and/or should put a recommendation to NOT order within Canada in the winter. It seems like they prioritized profit over their customers. I won’t be ordering again. If you are planning to order I HIGHLY recommend not ordering through the winter.

Amazing from A to Z ! The staff is really nice, the wine is exquisite and the food is delicious. You can take out the food and enjoy it with a bottle of wine in the vineyards. I'd 100% come back.

What a lovely vineyard! The wine is great but the experience was even better. They have a lovely cafe attached with plenty of seating inside and out. the menu has lots of offer and everything pairs well with all the tasty wine. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. We will definitely be returning.Update: returned and even when it's busy, staff here are great!

This was a hidden gem on our trip. Was an extremely warm September lunch time and visited here hoping for a break from the heat. Impressive store and tasting room - with individual introductions to the vineyard and its products. We then headed outside on the porch for lunch. Food was great albeit a bit expensive. Note that some of our pictures have a red cast due to the strong sunshine coming through the red tent.Took some wine and drinks to go which was nice to have throughout the rest of our trip - none of it made it all the way home!

Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, located 40 kilometers from Halifax, is a sprawling 40-hectare park that offers visitors the chance to see a wide variety of native and exotic animal species. The park is home to moose, foxes, beavers, wolves, black bears, and cougars. Visitors can enjoy informative displays about hooved mammals, canids, and cats while taking a leisurely walk under the trees.

I've been visiting this park since I was a little girl. I recently visited and had a great experience. There has been a lot of updates to the park and animal enclosures which is nice to see. The animal enclosures are always very clean and well maintained, which is nice to see. This is a great day to spend time with family. There park itself is beautiful for walking. There's a wetland area, ponds, benches to sit throughout the park and lots of walking. It was a hot day when we visited but there was lots of shade throughout the park. There's lots of different animals - otters, bears, bobcats, beavers, racoons, lots of birds, and so on. There's always going to be some animals you don't get to see but we saw almost all of them. There is a nice picnic area at the front of the park where you can have lunch. There's lots of picnic benches. There's a place to buy ice-cream and some food like sandwiches.

Shubenacadie Wildlife Park is a fantastic destination for families, nature lovers, and anyone interested in learning more about local wildlife. It’s a very small park with limited animals, it can be covered in a couple of hrs. On an 45 min drive from Halifax, good spot for a weekend trip. Kids loved the park. The walking paths are well-maintained, making it a pleasant experience for visitors of all ages. There are plenty of picnic areas and shaded spots, which make it easy to take a break and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

An amazing place to see wildlife animals and to have some nature walks. The park map was easy to follow. We didn’t visit the wetlands and spent two hours in the main part. Today was burning hot but we were still lucky to see almost all the animals like otter, beavers, red deer, elk, bobcat, etc.. The beavers are insanely cute and super active. Definitely worth visiting!

Shirui T — Google review

Such a nice spot to visit! We spent 2 hours here and there is still so much more to explore. The only thing is that we did not see the moose. :( Highly recommend.

Abigail K — Google review

A real hidden gem for some outdoor activities. Many animals to see fairly close up. Interpretive centre and signage geared to young kids. A wetland trail which probably is best early or late in the day. Clean washrooms and the trails are well kept.Despite the name it is a zoo for some of the animals. I’m sure the cougar would rather be out in the wild. No dogs allowed so make arrangements accordingly. We really enjoyed a morning there.

Don C — Google review

Nice park. Lots of animals and birds to see. Clean and well-maintained. Friendly staff. Great place to take kids or grandkids for an educational outing.

Stephen R — Google review

Had a super nice time walking around. Some of the signs are outdated, showing animals that are no longer in the facility. We also didn’t get to see the moose, but most of the other animals were pretty active. We didn’t notice any food dispensers out along the trails (map seems to indicate there would be?), but it was pretty neat to see a bunch of wildlife up close.

Kait P — Google review

Such a cute place for friends and family to hang out. Not a huge place but has a variety of animals, also had to mention that the staff are really kind and welcoming as well. 🥳

We can spend time near to wild nature. Shubenacadie Wildlife Park is a good destination for nature lovers. This wild park doenst have any vehicle walk through site seeing. But having a great walking track.

Dora J — Google review

Smallest zoo with very few animals. Well maintained. Bad thing was couldnt see a moose. friendly staff. Went with all hopes to see one. Didnt have a clue where the moose went. Disappointment for all the moose fans. Its hard to see a moose anywhere .This is the only hope So bad that happened. can easily spend around 3 hours. With the trails 5 hours solid. 4 stars is because i couldn't see a moose.

S M — Google review

Once the sun came out, the animals were more active, which was great for my niece and nephew! You definitely get a nice idea of the different wildlife around, though It's sometimes easy to get turned around and go where you came. It's good to see info indoors as well as outdoors, and also to get some (highly expensive) food and ice cream! I recommend to go, but bring snacks and water when you can.

Jasmine W — Google review

Awesome little park! Less than $5 to enter and it was a good 2 hours of exploring. If you have the time I'd definitely make the stop!

Kyle B — Google review

Had a great time at this park. The kids really enjoyed exploring around the different animal enclosures. Very nice park.

Tom H — Google review

Had a wonderful time at the wildlife park! It was my first time visiting. The trails are clean and well maintained, the animals all seem happy and healthy.

Devin G — Google review

This park is a great place to take the family or to go with friends or just stroll through alone. The animals are well looked after in large enclosures that have them in their natural environments. Also, the entry cost is low!

Kevin H — Google review

We went as a family of four our kids are 15 and 12 we all had a good time . Animals seemed to be well taken care of and there was lots of shade all around the park . Not overly big zoo can all be seen in roughly an hour and half , but I would definitely recommend as price was great to get in. Makes for a cheap family outing and can always grab a snack or ice cream well there too.

Wild Time and one of the highlights of our Vacation. Water was warmer then expected. We used their old used shoes provided as we only flip flops which are not allowed.Waves are intense, we lucked out going just after a full moon. Kids 8 and 10 loved it. We did the 2hour run but thought after we would of loved the 4 hour choice for more waves. Our guide 'K' was amazing and fun.Go for the intense choice.

Brent K — Google review

We did trip B. Riding the waves was a blast and the kids enjoyed mud sliding. Make sure to book ahead if you want to pick a specific tour

Mike L — Google review

My friend and I went for her birthday and had the best time! Our guide was Miles, and he did a great job driving us into the waves and even circled around so my friend could get a photo with the canon. The mud sliding was a lot of fun, and getting to have a quick shower after was wonderful.

Ellen C — Google review

Excellent experience overall! It was our first time for everyone in our group of 6. We had Jay as our guide and he did a wonderful job of making the experience an exciting adventure while keeping us safe. Unforgettable!!

Crona A — Google review

We had a team building event here. The stuff were extremely helpful and accommodating. They even agreed to do a BBQ after our boat tour. From start to finish, it was easy to communicate with them. They also offered our photographer to ride in another boat to take pictures. It was amazing!

Milia K — Google review

FABULOUS trip!! So glad we hooked up with this river runner outfit!! Such an amazing experience with great drivers!! Felt safe the whole time and my husband and I really enjoyed ourselves!

Patrice H — Google review

Staff were super friendly and made the trip great. Special shout out to our 'Runners' - K and Melissa for a great trip! Would recommend fully!

Chris D — Google review

Amazing time. So much fun. Be ready to get wet and to bounce. This is an awesome way to experience the power of mother nature and the incredible tides of the Bay of Fundy.

Nathan C — Google review

Lots of fun with the Shubbies on the river! Had never heard of tidal bore rafting before, and it was both an adventure and lots of fun! No compromise on security. Just the right amount of knowledge sharing. And lots of brown water!

Charles-Etienne D — Google review

We had a great day on the water today! Lucked out with some big waves after the recent lunar activity. Beth our guide was knowledgeable, energetic and friendly. When it was over our 11 year old asked if we could go again tomorrow! It won’t be tomorrow but we will be back.

Mike C — Google review

Very well organized and a ton of fun! Miles could spot every eagle on the river and was sure to drive us into the biggest waves. 10/10, would do again.

Courtney P — Google review

Gotdamm this is an amazing activity! The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable, and so are the staff. This company goes earlier, stays later, and seems to have the best waves, and sense of timing. They are super fun, and probably should charge more than the competition, mostly because they are that much better.Fred, I hope you read this, not only are you fun but your amazing. You made it extra fun, and were certainly very down to earth. The only complaint I have is the water….. it’s too brown. Oh and the mud, it’s too dirty.

Chris L — Google review

Me and my parents had a blast with the B trip, having at least 4 rounds of tidal bore fun before going mudsliding! I had never heard of mudsliding until we got to that mud covered beach but it was hilarious and surprisingly easy to slip down one of the self carved slopes and belly flop into cool water. I would recommend sitting at the front of the boat for the best experience (splash zone!) during the ride!

Dianna — Google review

Was a great experience with me and my bachelor party members from New Jersey, USA. Shout out to our driver Miles who was informative and fun start to finish.

Nicholas S — Google review

Excellent Bore Rafting Experience! Highly recommend.Would give 6* if it was possible!

Daniel R — Google review

We had such a good time all day! I highly recommend getting the full 4 hours, so that you can see the whole phenomenon of the water rising and the explanation and everything! It was a huge part of our appreciation of the day! We were with Nina all day and she was wonderful! Thank you again for everything!😊

Ariane C — Google review

Had an amazing 3 hr ride there yesterday. Staff was super friendly and professional. I felt completely safe the entire time. Jason was a lot of fun to ride with. He loves his job, and it shows. Hot showers and hot chocolate after getting positively drenched were the cherry on top! Would recommend to all.

Erik P — Google review

I've been out twice in 2019 and also in previous seasons. Always a great time. Highly recommended. Shubenacadie River Runners' guides have been consistently good and all three levels of ride are entertaining. The Super Wild Ride, though, is my favorite.

Masstown Market is a local landmark that has been serving quality foods and offering a great selection for over fifty years. The market features a variety of unique items for sale, including a butcher shop with a wide selection of meats and kitchen items, as well as a creamery offering affordable trays of different cheeses to try. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the Captain Cobs Crazy Corn Maze, which includes a maze, playground, and jump pad for kids to have fun on.

Me & my Husband enjoyed the place, the chowder is yummy and so many ice cream flavors to choose… Will definitely come back!.☺️☺️☺️

Jeana E — Google review

Awesome Market. It had everything you need in one place. Highly recommend a visit.

Paul R — Google review

Masstown Market is a great stop along Highway 104! The food was delicious and the people were super friendly. It's a wonderful place to take a break and grab a bite to eat. While there may not be a huge number of vendors, the ones that are there offer some great options. Definitely recommend it to anyone traveling through the area. Good food, good people, and a great stop overall!

Grant D — Google review

Stopped in for lunch on my eat to PEI. Fast, fresh and friendly. Wonderful staff. Delicious sandwich with many veg and TexMex soup. I bought ham and cheese biscuits and thumbprint cookies for my family. Delicious they said. Gone in 2 days! Very high standards every time.

When traveling Hwy 104E to Halifax NS be sure to drop in to Masstown Market. It is filled with grocery items a bakery a liquor store and the best I've cream shoppe.

Bruce M — Google review

Masstown market is a must go to for newcomers or visitors. In main strip there are always different items for sale very unique. At the far back there are washrooms and a icecream/dessert bar. To the right is the butcher shop, they always have a huge selection of meat including different kitchen items and spices. To the left is the creamery, they usually have these trays for really cheap that have different types of cheeses you can try which I always buy. Quick snack for the kids with the meats and cheese.

Natasha R — Google review

very big store lots to look at and choose from. a restaurant for a bite to eat. and of course had to get some old school juice for home

Lobe this place! The bakery and restaurant have phenomenal food and baked goods! Great deli with local meats and cheeses. Outstanding local fruits and vegetables. Really cool gift shop! And it has a NB Liquor outlet!

Very lovely place with friendly staff. They have great variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, deli, seafood, frozen meals, etc. I bought some fresh pick Nova Scotian blueberries and they tasted amazing. Couldn’t get enough of.The ice cream shop inside the market is the best. Great variety of flavors and huge scoops lol.

Alaleh F — Google review

Love this market! So many unique grocery and to-go items available. Their cheesecake is amazing! And their sandwiches (mock crab) are super-stuffed! Worth the $.

Wanda B — Google review

Great Market for local products including from the farms, crafters and artists. Fish market and boat restaurant has amazing food and fish & seafood selection is super. Very friendly staff, loads of parking. Creamery across the street and more gift shops.

Larry L — Google review

This is a must stop for those travelling between Truro and the North Shore/New Brunswick border. Incredible selection of local goods and products plus the fish and chips at the lighthouse are some of the best in the province. Pictures include the creamery and butcher shop which is across the street but part of the same complex.

Geoffrey B — Google review

Quite disappointed, was looking at buying some locally made crafts, but everything I looked at buying was made in China. But lots of parking and the lighthouse was neat.

Darren W — Google review

Shop here almost every weekend here. Love their baked goods especially their homemade bread and rolls. Love eating fish and chips at the Chip Boat. Something here for everyone, also great gift shop, liquor store and a lovely indoor and outdoor greenhouse for all your garden needs 😀

Rhoda D — Google review

The 4-star is for the seafood chowder. It has a great amount of seafood and vegetables, but I thought the taste could be improved. It’s less creamy and a little bland for my taste buds. But I’d say the taste is above average for the price you pay (cheaper than other chowder in the province). The environment is cozy. If you want a different environment other than a cafe to do some computer work, this is a good place to go. There are spots with electrical outlets. The market is 5-star for me. It’s where you get unique and special items. Although, it’s a bit pricey.

Rhea — Google review

Très beau marché j'ai adoré le grand fare. Quand on rentre c'est une poissonnerie mais quand on regarde sur le côté a l'intérieur on peut monter sur le toit. C'est super parce que tout le long que nous montons il y avait un petit musée sur les murs. J'ais adoré(Translated by Google)Very nice market, I loved the big fare. When you enter it's a fishmonger but when you look on the side inside you can go up to the roof. It's great because all the way up we went there was a little museum on the walls. I loved it

Sarah-Jade H — Google review

We loved ♥️ the Home Decor and Garden section. For lunch, we had the best Fish and Chips 🍟 😋

Zsolt S — Google review

I stop here every time I pass by. Outstanding market with fresh local produce, a liquour store, really great gift shop, ice cream parlor, bakery and deli. Definitely a place you must visit! Love Masstown Market!!

Tizzy L — Google review

Great place to get fresh local food on a road trip.Always so delicious! The icecream is unreal.Place has a little bit of everything.

Elissa D — Google review

I stopped off here today to try out the fish and chips. The haddock delicious - crispy batter, moist fish. The fries were sparse, but good. The coleslaw was fantastic. The kids in the boat are working hard, clearly. The tartar sauce was simply awful - no match for the meal, that's for sure. Little packets of Kraft Tartar sauce which I cannot describe - foul. Tasted of chemicals - inedible. Come on, people, how hard is it to make tartar sauce? If you can do a good coleslaw, respect the quality of the rest of the meal and get rid of this Kraft garbage, it's not hard to put a container of homemade tartar sauce in a bowl of ice. Super disappointing. 5 stars for the staff, the fish - zero stars for the inedible tartar sauce. It was so bad, it spoiled the whole meal. McDonald's does a decent tartar sauce - it's not impossible.

Cheryl M — Google review

The bread, biscuits, and donuts are delicious. Worth the drive from Moncton, in my opinion. Also, I’ve never seen a fish and chip so big!! 🤓

Kelley P — Google review

What an amazing place! Had lunch there and it was homemade and fresh huge portions of broccoli salad. I wish I had more time to check out the rest.

Adam R — Google review

We had a nice seafood Chowder and smoked meat sandwich ! Great food and price was good too.We also picked up some rainbow carrots, new potatoes and green beans. We will be back.

Krystal H — Google review

I recently dined at Catch of the Bay fish & chips and had an extremely disappointing experience, I ordered two pieces fish and chips. To start, the service was incredibly slow. I waited over 15 minutes just to receive my order, for the small number of customers at 1:00pm.When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best. My fish was overcooked, batter was tough and extremely greasy. Fries were cold overland and over cooked. Top it off they weren’t even homemade fries they were frozen Cavendish fries. The portions were good for the price we paid.To top it off, the atmosphere was good live music. The person who served me was very upbeat and pleasant. Overall, I would not recommend The fish and chips to anyone. There are far better options out there that offer better Fish and chips for the same price. I’m from Newfoundland, and do love my fish and chips. When it comes to Fish and chips home, it’s homemade fries and fresh fish.

N K — Google review

We are very lucky to have this farmers market so close to Truro. It is so unique, offers a wide range of products, and is in such a convenient stopping location along the side of the highway.

Shannon R — Google review

Our travels from Halifax to Fredericton has many great stops, but this one is special as it’s a great place to buy seafood and fresh meat. You won’t be disappointed.

Peter G — Google review

Always a fun place to stop on my way home from or to Halifax. Great place to shop for groceries and gifts, and to sit down for a meal or an ice cream. Conveniently located across from a gas station & Tim Hortons, and just an exit off the highway.

Sharon S — Google review

Lots of produce, baked goods, good you can grab and go. Great location when traveling through the province. Cashier's are quick! Also great to grab an ice cream or something from the snack bar!

So much to see. A great place to wander through. Got some great deals on plants and theres something for everyone. Great prices and lots of fresh produce. Good place to eat as well. One stop shopping.

Maisie C — Google review

Store keeps expanding. Great place to eat fast food. Fresh fruits, bakery, cold meats, cheese, souvenir section

Bob B — Google review

Yesterday, tried scones for first time. They were labeled 'blueberry'.I would call it misleading advertising because I was hard pressed to find anythingResembling a berry. - a slight bluish tinge seems to be the best they can do.Extremely disappointed! I definitely would NOT recommend.

Carol B — Google review

Disappointed in the cinnamon rolls as they are smaller and dryer than they used to be.Rolls are still assume.Biscuits with ham and cheese still very good.Hotdog buns very good.

Gary L — Google review

I didn't purchase anything for myself here. The grandkids had an egg salad sandwich on freshly baked white bread they loved and grilled cheese on wheat. They drank beverages from the cooler and then bought home made ice cream. There is a bakery, deli, grocery store and two other parts I did not visit which was a gift store and seafood shoppe located in lighthouse. Worth a visit with something for everyone

Mary — Google review

Must stop for anyone headed to Halifax etc. great seafood outside at the restaurant, great food inside, incredible local produce, bakery etc. Absolutely top notch!

Jonathan S — Google review

There are lots to see for home trinkets, and their plant sections is large and they have lots of great food options. You have to check out the fish and chips in the boat while you're there. Solid 10/10.

Jade D — Google review

Great selection of produce and local products. Prepared food and frozen, great stop for RV camping restock. The bread was soo fresh. We even managed to get fiddleheads. The blueberry juice was amazing.

Snapnstare — Google review

Think of it like a really big farmers market of sorts with an attached full service grocery store. It’s always Very busy in there. But that’s not a bad thing. It’s always been a bit of a tradition for us to make the midway’ pitstop to the market. My only caveat was that the sugar donuts tasted a bit dated and they have a strange spice/flavor to them. A bit disappointed as I am a big sugar donut guy.

Bridge

Sights & Landmarks

The Confederation Bridge is the largest bridge in the world that spans ice-covered waters, connecting Prince Edward Island to New Brunswick. The 12.9-kilometre long bridge was officially opened in May 1997 and is a marvel of civil engineering. It provides a great convenience for travelers as they no longer have to wait for a ferry to reach PEI from New Brunswick.

The bridge has a zero-tolerance policy for speeding and use of a phone and has cameras installed on the route so be very mindful when driving. The bridge is massive and very long.Just after crossing the Bridge when visiting PEI, there's a park from where you can see the entire bridge with a beautiful view that you would like to capture forever.

Nisha A — Google review

The bridge itself is an incredible feat of engineering. It takes about 15 minutes to cross and the view is amazing. We reached PEI and arrived to the Covid testing tents, showed our passports, Covid test results from the US, and our ArriveCAN info. We received a covid test from a very nice nurse and were on our way with instructions promptly. The reason for 3 not 5 stars is the return trip. The toll lanes were not labeled well enough for us to understand how to through in a motorhome. Unfortunately we don't understand French. I had to get out of the motorhome (not much room between the bus and the wall) in a strong wind and ripped open my arm to pay the $48.50 fee. Bad end to a nice trip.

Trish L — Google review

One of the drive that I have always been waiting to do is to drive on the Confederarion Bridge. Great view of the red earth on PEI when you are approaching. Also the scenic view from both ends truly shows how a great engineering masterpiece this is. There is no toll entering the island but you will pay $50.xx upon leaving from the bridge. It is still one amazing drive that I can cross out from my to-drive list.

Wilson F — Google review

It was really neat crossing the bridge. It felt safe and well maintained. There are spots on both ends you can stop and take photos but no stopping on the bridge. There is a toll when you leave the island.

Vanessa B — Google review

Nice if you’ve never been but nothing grandiose. Can’t see off the bridge no no real sights. There used to be stops at entrance where you could take pics of the length of the bridge and a gift shop there. I didn’t see anything at all this time.

Michele C — Google review

Yay, JJ was here to see the bridge in 2016! Nice view under the sunshine.

Kan H — Google review

Very impressive! The confederation bridge is the longest bridge in the world and an engineering marvel! It is 8 miles long built over the high sees that freezes in the winter. It is free to cross to the island but there's a fee of approx CAD$50 to leave the island.Unfortunately if you're driving a sedan you can't see much on either side while driving because of the approx 4 feet high walls on both sides. However once you arrive on the island you can make a right turn and there os an area that you can park and see the bridge that you just crossed.

Abi M — Google review

If you are traveling to PEI or so happen to be close to the bridge, this is a must stop at place to see the bridge. It's massive!!Crossing it is nice but he warned you'll be paying 50$ to cross back into New Brunswick. It's a great experience and there's a lighthouse in the distance to look at if you like those as well!

Mr R — Google review

Signage isn't the best and it's expensive to just go across and come back (for the experience / say you've done it). Theres absolutely nothing to do on the New Brunswick side without driving for quite awhile but the photo ops are better. It was amazing though to drive; recognizing it for the engineering feat that it is.

Wendy C — Google review

A marvel of civil engineering and a great convenience being able to come and go to/from PEI without having to wait for a ferry.Free to drive on to PEI...$48.50 CAD exit toll for a passenger car (2021)

James C — Google review

Drive over the bridge for the first time today. That felt surreal to be finally here. The views are so beautiful. It's quite the experience. We turned right off the bridge and took some pics there.

Nique B — Google review

The drive on the bridge is beautiful overlooking the water on both sides. The only bad part is quite a high toll when you leave PEI . You do not pay anything when you enter PEI but you do have to pay the toll when leaving , no matter how many times you do that in a day. There is no 24hour pass or anything as of now. The only convenience for frequent travellers is that they can leave island through the express lane where they do automatic scan and deduct money rather than you having to stand at the window each time to pay. The prices vary depending on the kind of vehicle. Its 50.25$ for the 2-axle vehicles like cars or light trucks.

Param S — Google review

It was my first time driving through the bridge. The structural design while on the bridge is ordinary, but off the bridge, the view is awesome! There's a toll on the way back from the island.

Yllas P — Google review

This is the longest bridge which was built on cold water ocean, and also the longest bridge in Canada, and the only way enter Prince Edward Island without use ferry. Just the toll is soooooo expensive! Only collect toll in out-island direction, and it cost $51.25!!

Hanhua G — Google review

Confederation bridge it is really a marvelous structure by humans... 12km long with 190m with single structure.... but you can only enjoy the view in semi trucks, buses and high vehicles... for the cars its just look like a normal bridge....and I am truck driver and cross this bridge 5 to 6 time in a week...

Kawal — Google review

Free to get on the island, $50 to leave, worth every dime. Loved it and will be back one day! Thank you PEI for the lovely time and great hospitality! Those that don’t like to pay the $50. Go take the ferry!Much love from Alberta to PEI!

Mark P — Google review

Passed through it early May 2023, the toll fee was $50.25 paid by credit card. It runs about 8 miles (13 km) and it's truly an engineering marvel. It's a beautiful bridge that's very well-maintained very smooth. Going back to PEI, we were able to take a detour to take a picture of the bridge. It's quite a sight!

Ruichi — Google review

18km bridge , beautiful views. Crossing to PEI was free. It has a one way fare of 50$ getting out of the island.

Dr. S — Google review

A modern engineering marvel. The bridge is tall and long. It gets quite windy on the bridge so drive carefully. I would recommend taking the time to drive over and see PEI

David N — Google review

It's a cool bridge. No stopping though so if you want pictures, wait until you get across the bridge. There is an info centre where you can drive up to and get photos.

Cheyla B — Google review

What a beautiful journey in and out of PEI. You feel like you are floating in air over the ocean, breathing in the fresh salty air. While there’s no charge to get into PEI, you do get charged to use the bridge on your way out. Love it!

Vinit D — Google review

My father consulted on this bridge design when it was being proposed over 20 years ago and it is truly an engineering marvel. 25 km in length and high above the sea level, it is has great views of the ocean and you can look forward and back at the bridge itself which is fantastic. There is no cost to going onto PEI, but it costs $50 per car when you leave the island. The bridge is single lane, but there is little traffic and generally cars are not speeding as they seem to be enjoying the unique experience.

Christopher N — Google review

I am sure the bridge is an engineering marvel and a must-see at least once, but it was a little underwhelming. If you are not in a truck or SUV, you look at the concrete barrier the whole way.

J B — Google review

Such a long bridge, very well taken with great focus and excellent detail, Julie!! Love the fantastic information provided!!

Jr N — Google review

Exciting drive over the bridge, beautiful views of PEI and New Brunswick, but it'll cost you 50.25$ to leave by bridge, so plan ahead!

BRIGITTE R — Google review

Great bridge connecting New Brunswick and PEI - it's 12.9km long, and will cost you ~$50 for a standard vehicle to get across. There's a max speed, so would generally take around 10 minutes to get across. The toll is collected when leaving PEI, and counts as the round trip payment.

Mat B — Google review

The bridge is great and there is a little park to the east side before you get to the bridge. Although winter we were able to walk around and check it out. I imagine based on the number of shops closed up for the season that summer would be hopping. The bridge is one lane each way with no passing. It was beautiful in the winter to take in the scenery and I imagine summer would be majestic.

Wanda J — Google review

Scariest thing I've done in my 61 years. 8 miles long and very high. When you enter it you can barely see the opposite shore and you feel like your about to drive into the ocean. I am afraid of heights. Those who aren't will have fun with my comments I'm sure, but if you are as well you have been warned. Absolutely do not be the driver.

Bob H — Google review

50$ fee is far less than what the island has to offer. Stunning As always.

Oikoumene G — Google review

Helps to save time instead of using the ferry. The $50 charge to use a bridge/road is quite steep; even for the convenience.

Burntcoat Head Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which features the Joggins Fossil Cliffs. The cliffs are made of limestone and are 300 million years old. The park is full of tidal pools, as well as beaches and trails. It is a great place to explore for nature lovers, who will be fascinated by the fossils that can be found there.

Awesome spot in our province to see the world’s highest tides! Our own Hopewell Rocks! Make sure to time your visit right due to the tides. There’s so much to see and do here.

Andrew J — Google review

Deff come during low tide (high tide is fun too just make sure you bring a jacket) really cool park with a lot of cool history, deff a recommendation

OmegaW0o0lf — Google review

An amazing experience. There is a lot of natural beauty both filled and emptied. The guides are very accommodating and detailed. The most impressive part for me was the speed with which the Bay fills. You can watch the change happen and it is impressive!Definitely worth a trip.

Andrew F — Google review

So happy to find this place by chance while on our way to Cape Breton. We spent about 3 hours wandering the place, taking photos and just enjoying the area. When we arrived, it was high tide. About 45 mins later, it was low tide and we were able to walk on the ocean floor. What a great experience! The climb up to the lighthouse was interesting and you will get a 360 view on the place. Definitely worth the stop!

Sandra L — Google review

Completely amazed by the height of the tides! Beautiful landscape to experience. There is so much to see at low tide. Kids were having a blast finding hermit crabs! Definitely wear water shoes to be most comfortable and safe and be sure to keep track of the time because the tides coming in are fast and serious business!! This isn't a place to go swimming!

Michelle M — Google review

This is a MUST SEE location in NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA! You can see the best views of the High and low tides here as well as walk on the ocean floor during low tides. The lighthouse allows you to have an awesome view of the area from its height. Wear appropriate shoes or boots for walking the ocean floor and bring walking sticks if available for stability although not required.

R J — Google review

This place is really good to visit in summer and careful as you walk around little bit slippery. But beautiful

Nimmy J — Google review

One of the best places to see both high and low tides. Ample parking with clean washrooms (9-5). Has a diaper changing table as well! The viewpoint is 2 minutes away from the parking lot. Better take a boot if you are interested to walk on the ocean floor.

Rashed E — Google review

We walked the ocean floor at low tide and it was amazing. Great views, beautiful scenery and lots of crabs. We wore water shoes which was the best option. The tides are incredible. The best part is it's free. Just watch where you walk and be careful.

Doug — Google review

The place is very cozy and not crowded with visitors. The history of the lighthouse and the photographs are very interesting. I missed the low tide so I couldn't walk on the ocean floor. But I still saw a lot of beauty.

Dr. B — Google review

This is a MUST DO for visiting Nova Scotia! We went at low-tide and walked on the ocean floor and went in the caves. It was incredible. Don’t worry too much if you didn’t bring the proper footwear, we wore sandals and running shoes. Just be okay with getting them dirty.

Dea H — Google review

Beautiful place. Very important to wear proper shoes when going down the stairs. There is water to wash shoes off. Benches to sit and enjoy the view, plaques with explanations and informations. Lighthouse can be entered during certain time and climb up. Big gravel parking lot, with designated RV parking. Washrooms available and a little gazebo to sit and enjoy. Lots of green space to have Picknicks.Dog friendly, just keep on leash and clean up after them.Watch the apple trees. As nice as they are apples are falling and “could” maybe hit your head.

Marie — Google review

I came here on a Saturday morning for sunrise. Unfortunately it was too cloudy for any meaningful. Is snow the bed the day before and it felt a little treacherous with some snow cover sections on the roads and I cannot tell in the dark what are there any black ice. There's nobody here other than myself, and the lack of disturbance of the snows suggest that no one had been here recently either. I was met with a fox when I arrived at the park. It quickly scurried away. The snow Addison contrast to what likely would have been a bit of a boring reddish brown ocean floor. I see lots of great photo ops during sunrise and sunset, which unfortunately I did not have time to come back for and the weather was not cooperating.

Eric W — Google review

This place is a gem! A once in a lifetime experience to explore the ocean floor during low tide. We saw lots of tiny shells, sea snails, barnacles and kelp. The trail to the ocean floor is short and very easy to follow. Tips: check out the official tide schedule on the website and come during low tide, pack food and water, and don’t expect to spend too much time in the lighthouse as there is no air circulation and it’s super hot and stuffy at the top. Also bring water shoes.

GG Y — Google review

Incredible. Felt like being on Mars. If you go about 20 minutes to the right of the stairs, there's a mini waterfall and strange grassy field.Definitely be careful of time though. The tide can come in and trap you without notice.

Sarah C — Google review

Beautiful park with great picnic areas and friendly on site staff. Our family had a great time here.

Tom H — Google review

Burntcoat Head Park is absolutely a gem place. Make sure you check the tide timings before you plan your trip. Although it’s recommended to visit both during low and high tide I would recommend to visit during low tide to experience the ocean floor. The walk on the ocean floor is a classic muddy adventure and you get the real feel of how those Guinness record tides can make the floor look. It’s guaranteed that your footwear will be a mess if you wish to go down. There is lot of information about the park on their website and also live web cameras which you can access anytime. Also a lighthouse. Good washrooms. Tons of parking available.Make sure to carry your own food and water if you wish to spend a complete day!

Cyrus A — Google review

Don't expect anything fancy. You park, go down the path to the stairs, and then your on the floor of the Bay of Fundy. No vendors or shops. Great way to spend half day on your trip to Halifax. We timed our visit within 1-2 hours of low tide. We walked around marveling at the fact we were walking at nearly 60 feet below high tide. We walked around the base of an entire island. Definately worth the drive to see this. It's 5 stars because it's an awesome natural wonder that your never going to see anywhere else.

Bart B — Google review

Incredible to walk on the ocean floor. Check the tide schedule, you can walk 3h before and after the low tide. If you have the chance to book a sunset tour guide, I suggest you do it. Had a blast and really nice to see the little creatures. Most beautiful sunset ever. You can go up the lighthouse!!!

Jacynthe T — Google review

A trip out to Nova Scotia is not complete without a visit out to the Bay of Fundy. This park and location was beautiful and picturesque. It was tranquil and serene as you sit and watch the water 💦 slowly rushing back into the bay. You can walk in the floor bed during low tide ( 6-7AM ) and you better be on solid ground by 5PM.There is a lovely gift shop / lighthouse as well here.

Dennis W — Google review

Very interesting tour of the ocean floor. The lighthouse, gift shop and the museum were all pretty small and not too impressive. But the actual place was great. We took a guided tour at low tide and it was great.

Karen L — Google review

Spot of the highest recorded tides in the world, come during low tide for the unique experience of walking out onto the ocean floor, only to come back 6 hours later at high tide to find you can't even get within 100m of where you stood just earlier that morning.Beautiful walk, dog friendly as well. Be sure to read all signs and manage your time however, as it can be dangerous if you stay out passed the recommended time.Be sure to wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy (make sure it has lots of grip), or wet. There is a shoe/foot wash station with supplied brushes for you to clean off afterwards.Park itself is nice and quaint with lots of informational signs and picnic spots with picnic tables. Plenty of free parking. Road up to the park is gravel and has large speed bumps

Brendan L — Google review

Wow! Truly amazing. A great place to see.

Dre K — Google review

Beautiful views of the changing tides and Bay of Fundy. Recommend getting there at low or mid-low tide when walking is possible on the rocky sea floor. Take care walking as the tides come into the area quickly and could potentially get stranded or cut off from the main stairs to the water.

APF M — Google review

We missed low tide on the New Brunswick side of the bay so we decided to stop here on our way home. This was such an amazing experience. As a bonus, it was also free and had a huge parking area. Was better than Hopewell rocks since it wasn't busy and they were less restrictive.

Tyler B — Google review

A very nice place to visit with a beautiful view. Parking and entry is free and they have a decent amount of spaces. They have a small lighthouse/viewpoint that you're allowed to go up to the top in which is very cool. The trails down to the water are quite short and a good distance for all ages. MAKE SURE you don't wear fancy shoes or pants because there WILL be mud once your down by the water. All in all a good place to visit.

Mitchell — Google review

We got to see this place at low tide and then high tide.Since it's the Bay of Fundy - tides are of utmost importance. You need to check and see the tide timings.Parking is free and ample so no cost involved. There is a public washroom there which is clean and easily accessible and visible. They also have a lighthouse where you can go up and see the entire area. It's a steep climb but worth the effort - it's free too.Inside this lighthouse on the walls is a lot of interesting facts too.If you stand at the water long enough you will see the ground disappearing.I have attached pictures for you to see.

Nigel P — Google review

Fantastic views of the Bay of Fundy only an hour from Halifax. There are steps cut into the rock allowing easy access down to the seafloor for an able bodied person.

Magicide — Google review

Great experience like no other to explore the floor of the Bay of Fundy at low tide. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. We returned after the park closed to check out high tide and watch an amazing sunset.

Parks

Five Islands Provincial Park, located in Nova Scotia, is a top outdoor destination offering stunning sea cliffs overlooking the Bay of Fundy. The park provides opportunities for hiking along the 300-foot cliffs, beachcombing, clam digging, and ocean kayaking. With its beautiful campgrounds and picturesque landscapes of red dirt, green forests, and blue waters, it's an ideal spot for camping. Hikers can explore trails like Red Head Trail and enjoy views of Economy Falls.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Is only the first thing to say about this Natural beauty. This Campground on just the drive in relaxes you. With it's perfect paved road with woods on either side. Leading you right to the office, I swear I was in a different province for a moment, or possibly a different country. The views from each campsite in the park are spectacular. Have your pick! Wooded ✔ open ✔ Thank you to Diane at the Office Check-in for all of your help. Because it was slow last evening I practically had the whole place to myself. Which I highly suggest. Diane said to simply have a peek around the park and to go pick a site I loved if I didn't want to keep mine and she'd switch me. So I did! I really appreciated that 'Homey' family feel. Thank you Carol for our wonderful chat and the extra firewood. And for speaking with me about all of your favorite campsites on the phone because you were able to that morning. You were right! #82 is beautiful!! If you're a hiker, go here. The Redhead trail is a hikers dream with views to match. With the beach nearby this park really has everything to offer. And deserves every star I gave. I will certainly be back, and most likely sooner than I planned!

Shannon R — Google review

Very quiet for a long weekend for Canada day, first time we've ever been here, found a great spot we booked the day bookings opened in April. Good sized private lot. Only downside the grass is too tall on the sites, but the weather has been rainy so I get it. Dog friendly, keep them on a leash, lots of vault toilets around and lots of exploring to be had. We will be back!

Nick B — Google review

This place was an amazing place giving us a unique experience of the high and low tide. The lighthouse was very beautiful and well decorated. There was an easy access down the the beach. We were able to walk on the ocean floor since it was a low tide at the time. We were able to see many sea creatures like crabs, snails, etc. There was a playground near the lighthouse making foe an amazing place for children. There were benches giving a great view of the ocean and the 5 islands. The islands looked spectacular especially from the lighthouse area of the park.

Trip B — Google review

It was a lot of fun exploring Five Islands Provincial Park. If you’re just there for the day, as you’re driving in, keep going beyond where the little cabin in to the sign pointing to the day use area. At the end of it, you’ll come across a parking lot with a washroom nearby. I do not recommend using the washroom as a person with lady parts as it was downright disgusting since it only gets cleaned once daily or when a worker is there during the off season. I went as the tide was receding and it was such an experience walking down the beach where the water previously was only a couple of hours before. You can walk pretty far down the beach, but beware of tide times as you can be left stranded. There is a lot to explore and places to take scenic photos. Very peaceful location with every visitor group having their own personal space. Some tips:- Be sure to check the tide schedule before visiting as it’ll be a different view depending on how high the tide is.- Bring water shoes so that your day shoes doesn’t get super muddy.

May Z — Google review

The campsites are really nice here. It is mostly for people with trailers, but there are a handful of campsites for people with tents. Most sites are wide open with little to no tree cover, but you are on grass, which is a plus. The major attraction here is the tides and the fact that you can walk out during low tide and explore the ocean floor. The sunsets are quite nice there too.The people there were super nice and we were even offered free fire wood and even lawn chairs since they saw that we didn't have any. The only downside is the bathrooms. We here there for camping 20 years ago and stuff hasn't changed much since then, so they are due for major bathroom renovations. There's only 2 showers available on the whole site and to make things worse, they are open only during certain periods of the day because of an issue with water provisioning. Outside of that time, you have to use the outhouses, which is scary and you can smell them from quite a distance. If they can improve on the bathroom facilities, this would be an amazing place.

Bobby C — Google review

Amazing park and people.probably best I'vestayed at ..it is a very nice piece of quiet heaven...I would stay here all season if I could. The sights and excursions are endless and have had the best vacation in years. There are private sites ( which is what I booked) for people who need to get away and decompress. Highly recommend this park for your next trip!!!!

Jean M — Google review

Really loved the staggered feel of the terrain. Felt as though I was part of a hillside community. Had a lovely walk out in the Bay during low tide, exploring all the ocean wildlife left behind in the shallow pools of water. The next day we were lucky enough to have yet another beautiful, sunny day as we reached the lookoff (which wasn't marked at all) and peered down at the Bay we had explored the day prior. So wonderful to have experienced both perspectives. Absolutely some of my favourite scenery.

Justin C — Google review

Great camping experience, be sure to take advantage of the wonderful hiking trails!

Bob L — Google review

Wow. This park is great. Our site has power and water hookup. A short walk to the water. The views and vistas are incredible and the sites are very private. We would definitely love to come back again

Jim B — Google review

Hiked the Red Head trail. The trail is mostly wooded with occasional viewpoints where views are often obstructed by trees. Trail is in need of some maintenance in places. The view from Red Head is spectacular however and worth the investment. There is no beach access along the trail (without significant risk due to high cliffs). There is ample parking by the campground rest station, which has washrooms and showers. The hike start is a short distance away. There is beach access from the campground. Beautiful views from the beach as well.

Leigh W — Google review

I stayed at site 16 for just under a week and thoroughly enjoyed it! The water and electrical service was convenient, as well as location in proximity to the day use area/beach.Loop A is a bit far from the washrooms/showers/dish washing area (it’s almost a 1km walk following the campsite roads). The views are spectacular and it’s a must see place at both low and high tide! Low tide is wonderful to walk far out, but high tide is nice for swimming on a hot day too.

Erin D — Google review

The bathrooms with showers could've been better kept, there was no paper even after they closed it for an hour for "daily maintenance" and nothing had been cleaned. Otherwise was a great site, gorgeous views with good campsites & firepits. We got to see some eagles during our evening walk!

Holly H — Google review

Amazing place to witness the tides of the Bay of Fundy.DO NOT walk to the islands at low tide unless you are prepared to return as soon as the tide starts coming in. It comes in faster than you think. We saw someone get stranded with a child. 911 was called. Read the warnings and head them.

Ben W — Google review

Our favourite place in Nova Scotia. I camp here every summer and it is well maintained, the view is breathtaking and I will never be tired of watching the tides.

Hemanchal J — Google review

Wonderful park with great camping options. Scenic drive to reach here is an amazing experience.😊❤️

We had a great stay at site 34 Camp A. Incredible views from this site, bathrooms close by and quick access to a cliff side walking trail. Beautiful park

GnomadicBeatz — Google review

We love this park. Did you know that is has some of the most interesting geology in the province? Take a walk along the beach at low tide and make your way east. Some really fantastic, and geologically unique features here. Worth checking out. I cycled the trails around the campground and enjoyed the views from the camp site. The park is high up on a hill, so the views from practically everywhere are fantastic. Staff is great too, and good firewood, which for me is a make or break item.

Krista W — Google review

I love this park so much. It's beautiful and peaceful. My husband took me here for a lovely picnic for my birthday and it was absolutely wonderful

Amanda P — Google review

I recommend highly to visit this Park! We saw it at low tide and were able to walk on the ocean floor (I recommend having a second pair of shoes if you don't want to ruin the others), that was an amazing feeling and see these little guys on the floor searching for water was really cute and funnyWe also had the chance to observe a family of sea eagle, that was crazy

Max M — Google review

I was expecting the trailer sites to have some trees but it was just an open field. The signage was not very clear to get to the beach. The grass needed to be mowed. We had a nice walk while tide was out. Other than that it was just ok.

Shirlee D — Google review

Beautiful park with amazing views of the world's highest tides!

Cassie T — Google review

Very nice camping ground. The scenery is breathtaking. We will go again.

Susan M — Google review

Beautiful park, very well kept. The spacing between the sites is generous and our site was level enough to sleep comfortably in a tent. The only thing I did not understand is how operating the showers from 09:00 to 13:00 and 16:00 to 21:00 is saving much water, as is claimed by the administration.

Klaus P — Google review

Very nice provincial campground. Majority of the sites are very large and have amazing views of the rolling coastal hills and cliffs on the bay of fundy. The main road leading into the park is paved making for easy access of any kind of vehicle. Only downside is showers/restrooms are an uphill hike for majority of the sites in loop A. Will be returning to this place again as we loved it!

Sackville Waterfowl Park is a must-see in the town of Sackville, offering a combination of trails and elevated decks that cut through the marsh, providing unobtrusive views of the natural setting. The park offers an easy and clean walking experience, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Additionally, there are hikes along the dykes near Westcock and along the Cumberland Basin to Rockport and around to Dorchester for those who love exploring nature.

A very beautiful place. We had a lot of fun walking around. Highly recommend

Lelya S — Google review

Great little outdoor wetlands hideaway to see lots of waterfowl, birds of prey, reptiles, amphibians and even fish. A great spot to let go of stresses and embrace nature like the wild creatures we are. Boardwalks surround much of the body of water. Several kilometers of trails, named after local biodiversity, it's a tidy little ecosystem in and of itself. I recommend anyone able to visit do so. There are picnic tables and benches along some of the pathways to give your feet, knees, hips and back a break along the way.

Wild S — Google review

Such a beautiful location. Every time that I have the chance to walk here I jump for the opportunity. The boardwalk stretches almost the entire way around the waterfowl marsh. There are always wildlife surrounding the area. Geese, ducks, squirrels, and if you’re lucky you may even see a bald eagle! Definitely take a stroll here if you have the time on a warm afternoon, lots of covering from the trees so the whole walk stays nice and shaded.

Cas W — Google review

It is a clean and fantastic place—many birds and different ducks. Every time, new emotions. I love Waterfowl Park and the town of Sackville.

Sackville waterfowl park was SO amazing that we had to go back the next day!Saw lots of new birds including a Cedar Waxwing, yellow warbler, ducks (can’t recall the name, but they were special). Very easily to walk. I’ll be going back!

Fun little experience. The boardwalk area is super pretty but the walk is short so you get to enjoy it. Considering the location, so close to the highway, it's surprisingly quiet.

Dan F — Google review

This is a delightful little park to walk around. Lots of water fowl to see as you stroll along the paths. The paths also lead you just outside of the downtown area, so it's easy to grab a nice coffee and bite to eat just before or after entering the park. Great place to stretch your legs, as the park is located just off the highway.

Explore the fascinating geological history of Nova Scotia at the Fundy Geological Museum, where you can discover dinosaur fossils, minerals, and gemstones. This interactive hub offers hands-on exhibits and beach tours that take you on a journey back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the land over 200 million years ago. The museum showcases unique geological discoveries from the province and teaches visitors about their significance. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn about Nova Scotia's rich natural history through an engaging and educational experience!

Little museum but will keep your children occupied for an hour at least. Fee to enter the museum (free if under 5). Has separate washrooms just opposite of the ticket counter (has diaper change table in the men’s washroom, appreciated very much as a dad). Has a small souvenir shop as well.

Rashed E — Google review

A lot of rocks and geological stuff. We went on a rainy day so couldn’t explore the outdoor activities. Wish it had more to offer. It is a cool city. I’d love to see more dinosaurs. They had staff there willing to answer any question. The gift shop was cute and small.

A good place to spend an hour or so. We liked the fossils and mineral exhibits.

Amin K — Google review

We did a family fossil hunt and had a great time . We made fossils and had a brunch and went out looking for real fossils possibly someone's with dinosaurs. The staff was super friendly and informative I learned a lot and had no idea there was so much information in fossils. I would definitely recommend as a great way to spend afternoon with kids and I would even recommend as just a fun outing as adults I'm sure everyone will learn something and have fun.

Great place for kids and adults alike. They have a very interesting display as well as some interactive set ups. Prices are reasonable. They also have clean washrooms. One day I would like to see an all-gender washroom facility since they have a progressive pride flag on display.

If you have younger children who are interested in dinosaurs this is a great spot to check out while in Parrsboro. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We even picked up a few souvenirs from the gift shop. We all learned a lot of interesting things about our Province that I previously had no idea about. There are a number of informative historical videos and displays that are worth while taking the time to watch. My 10 year old daughter really enjoyed this stop and I am sure yours will as well. Worth the visit without question 👍👍

Clarry R — Google review

A really great museum for a quick visit. Lots of information thou, you can either spend 10 minutes if you just look at stuff but, you can be there for an hour if you read and learn all the interesting facts about Nova Scotia and his geological richness. You're going to learn not only about the Canadian dinosaurs but, also about some cool and beautiful rocks that you can find in the region (Bay of Fundy) and in Nova Scotia. Our kids were amazed and we were too, really well organized and maintained museum. Now with COVID-19 it is sparkling clean and with some different security measures so, please call ahead or book online to make sure you won't lose your time. It is not their fault, they're just doing the right thing by being cautious about the situation. And for dog owners, they have a small fenced area on a tree shade that you can lock your dog while you're visiting. That's for small dogs only thou. I saw a bigger wooden fence but, not sure if it was part of the museum.

Ricardo F — Google review

My kids truly love this place. it's not a big museum but so cozy and well-organized!

Quynh L — Google review

A great little museum with a wealth of educational content! The museum has changed over the years and I appreciate the latest update! They have enough appeal for all ages ( a craft activity station for kids and a dinosaur dig sand pit) and dinosaur decor everywhere! There is a location where you can watch fossils being prepared and they have a beach tour as well! You can also go out to their dig site a few times in the summer but the prices are quite steep.Gift-shop has a lot of fun things but I wish they had more personalized items ( such as shirts featuring the local dinosaurs, not generic shirts with the museum name printed on the sleeve)

Neill M — Google review

Great place! This is a bit off the highway but worth it. It was amazing with lots of information and hands on exhibits, right on the bay, it a town with other cool stuff to see and do

Jennifir G — Google review

An informative museum that has many exhibits on geology and dinosaurs. A great place to visit on a rainy day or with kids. Despite the whole museum exhibit area being no bigger than three whole gyms, they used the space very well with every corner and available area packed with information and interactive exhibits. There is also a window that you can peek into the lab and see what an actual geologist is doing. Despite it being a Saturday, someone was in there washing the sediments from the rocks. There is also a small gift shop by the entrance. Lots of parking available.

Main visitor center wasn't open. They seem to have limited hours. The beach is open and they have the tide chart listed so you can walk the beach with confidence that the tide won't get you! Nice walk, but I didn't see any fossils. Also, the walk on the beach is free.

Enjoyed the tour. Happy I brought a coat. Early in the morning. Cool but when the sun comes up gets warmer. Don't wear open toes shoes sharp rocks . Long Beach to explore

Joe H — Google review

If you like rocks or fossils or history from 312 million years ago - this is the beach for you!Highly recommend the tour - very knowledgeable & personable. The kids on our tour had a great time. Excellent for all ages.

Van L — Google review

One of my absolute favorite places to go visit. It is always such a relaxing fun and interesting to take the family. It does not cost any money to go on the beautiful rock beach, make sure to look up tide times for joggins fossil cliffs in NS the day you are going, if not you and the tide is high you will NOT be able to go down to the beach!!! :)

Kay A — Google review

Arrived as the tide was going out, explored the gallery, and then made our way down to the beach without the tour as low tide arrived. Glad we went to the gallery first, or we wouldn't have known what to look for! We took pictures of our finds and showed them to the gentleman behind the desk in the center. He told us what we had found and helped us understand what was in the photos. Informative and educational!

Awesome Spot..seen a waterfall..many rock formations..tide was in but still Incredible to be there..lots of rocks to look at and explore.. beautiful scenery..lots to learn and see. Clean washrooms. Binoculars $1 to look through. Pic nic tables to eat at.even found a few geocaches there.. awesome day 💙 even left a few of my painted rocks behind for others to find.

Tina B — Google review

An excellent opportunity to see fossils in their natural state. The fossils here are mostly plant based. Go on the guided tour if possible and don't be scared off by the steps to get down, there's appx 69 and are nice and even with a railing.

Beth — Google review

What a great experience! We booked a 90-minute tour and were fortunate to be guided by Dana Brown. Dana shared his vast knowledge as easily as if he was chatting with us about neighborhood going-ons over tea. He stretched our minds back to 300 million years ago by infusing every bit of information with something that made it alive to us. 90 minutes went by quickly; we are hoping to make it back for a 4-hour tour!

Lisa D — Google review

Quieter/much less busy than the Hopewell rocks and honestly, far more interesting!

Melody L — Google review

Great place to learn about rich geological history of the Joggins Cliffs and scientific discoveries at Joggins. If you are just visiting the beach it’s free to enter. The museum has a few. The museum is small but displays the discoveries at Joggins. A 3-5 minute walk from the center will take you down to the beach. There is a small picnic area, public washrooms. At the time of our visit the cafe was closed.

Rashed E — Google review

Missed the last tour after a 5 hour drive...I really wanted to see fossils but staff told me I can go but won't find anything... I checked the tide time visited the museum then went... glad I did...too bad the staff wasn't helpful at all!

Mélanie L — Google review

This was a surprising and a rare find on our way back from Halifax to Boston! And what a great surprise! You can see yourself being pulled back millions of years ago with the fossils around you. The museum is great and we learnt about some of the oldest discovered fossils. We also explored the area when you can find your own fossils! I and my 9 year old daughter could have spent days here!

Manu J — Google review

Beautiful beach with amazing rock layers visible along the cliff. The tour offers an expert who can point out the features and help identify fossils. As a protected beach you cannot take any rocks home, so bring your camera.

Patrick K — Google review

Wonderful museum. Watch the little movie. Walk the beach. Great staff.

CJ M — Google review

An amazing experience! A friendly staff and museum / history center small, but large and detailed enough to hold a family's attention while waiting for low tide. (Be sure to plan your trip around the tide schedule, so you're able to walk the rocky beach & explore the joy of finding fossils! Fossils must be returned, however, --this is a protected site.)

Courtney N — Google review

Certainly, a must see if you are in the area. This is a unique place, but requires a climb up and down 3 flights of stairs that are not too strenuous. May not be appropriate for very small children, especially toddlers. There are fossils everywhere! Look for the lines from trees and tree branches. You have to be cognizant of the tides, as you can get caught in an incoming tide, especially if you wander too far down the shoreline close to the change in tides.Definitely recommend.

P W — Google review

Such an amazing experience! We decided to stop in on a whim on the way back from PEI and pretty much had the place to ourselves once we waited out high tide. My time listed below for waiting is strictly because we arrived an hour before the tide went out. The wait time to buy a ticket was under 5 minutes so we went around the museum while we waited. The walk down to the beach might be difficult for some, so just keep that in mind if you're looking to visit. Make sure you bring an extra pair of socks and shoes too, it can get a little wet!

Alyssa — Google review

An old relic of N.S that is lovely to visit and go fossil hunting ! Very calming and relaxing activity to do on your own or with others. Beautiful beach with nice cliffs and sprawling rock formations and interesting rocks that are fossils in huge abundance!Inside the Joggins museum they have a brilliant display of rocks, fossils and the history of that area.A note to those who plan a journey here. Plan your visit in accordance to the tides. Our visit was timed near the tide coming in, the tide cane in quickly and abruptly ended our fossil hunt. We nanaged to get in a solid 35 or so mins but could of gone longer, that would of been nice.

M — Google review

Cool place to visit. We went with local friends. It was post hurricane so a bit cooler and windy on the beach but we had a great time. Very educational.

Chris E — Google review

This centre is a good educational spot. There is a small museum with information on the area and exhibits. We did the tour with a guide who took us down to the beach and explained quite a bit more about the cliffs and the area. There are toilets and a nice little gift shop in the centre. There are also stairs that go down to the beach.

Vanessa B — Google review

I will start by saying I’m not much of a fossil person. My thoughts are that if you have the time to drive here, it’s cool to look at and see. If you don’t have the time you really aren’t missing much. It’s free to go and see it but you can pay for a tour to learn more if interested.

Ben — Google review

I STRONGLY suggest to take the guided tour. It makes the experience a thousand times better. Our guide was passionnate and knowledgeable. I feel that without a guide, the cliffs are not as interesting since you wouldn't know what to look at.I also strongly recommend to take 30-45 minutes BEFORE the tour to visit the museum, so everything during the tour would make more sense. The staff is very friendly, the museum is clean and simple.

Lou P — Google review

It’s amazing! Great to go with the family and learn about our history!

Vivian — Google review

The tour is well worth taking, best to tour the museum before the tour as the tour was mainly the guide wandering the beach with you pointing out fossils. Helps to have a little more background before you go down there. The 1.5 hour tour doesn’t actually take you to the area marked “best fossils” on the map, so once you’ve got an eye for what you’re looking for, after the tour you can wander over to the other area on your own. The tour ends on the beach and you’re left on your own to get back.

Kate W — Google review

Me and the family had a great time here. Check the tides and plan to show up about and hour before low tide. Bring lots of water and proper foot wear as the beach can be a little rough. Take your time and look around. You can find alot of new fossils every day if you have a good eye.

Allan P — Google review

An out of this world past comes alive in this rock strewn beach that is to be visited at low tide.Rocks and pebbles of various colours with fossilized marks are fascinating to observe. We walked on the ocean floor for an hour or so mesmerized by the rock face formations and the incredible expanse of rocks, stones and pebbles to pick up and feel a timeless evolution in our hands.

Phil V — Google review

Stop at Joggins Fossil Center on our way to Halifax. The Center is a nice building with a display (cost to sè the display). Walked down the stairs to the shoreline. The cliff's are cool to see. The tide was out so we could walk out a little way. Several people looking for fossils. Neat place. I recommend.

Peter H — Google review

Amazing! I highly recommend the 30 minute guided tour so you know what ro look for down on the beach. The museum provided great context.

Sculpture

The Giant Lobster in Shediac, Atlantic Canada, is a must-see landmark and a popular attraction for visitors. Located at 229 Main Street, this large sculpture symbolizes Shediac as the "Lobster Capital of the World." As the world's largest lobster sculpture, it attracts around 300,000 visitors annually. Tourists can enjoy taking selfies with this realistic and detailed sculpture, which now has steps for easier access to its top.

Wonderful touristic spot in a beautiful small town. The giant lobster in Shediac is an iconic site you need to visit, take a photo in and look around in the visitor info area and the souvenirs shops. You will find treasures made by locals in the big red barn and many social-media-worth spots to get nice pictures.Just park and walk around, it's a lovely place.

Sam F — Google review

World's Largest Lobster (exhibit), right here at Rotary Park in Shediac, New Brunswick !!! Kids love to climb atop. Glad we stopped here on the way to Confederation Bridge for Prince Edward Island from Moncton, NB. Parking gets full easily. That speak volumes of its popularity. Challenging to find spot for bigger vehicles.

Travel B — Google review

Iconic Landmark!! Must see if you’re in the area. The Giant Lobster 🦞 itself is incredibly impressive, standing at 35 feet, It’s a great spot for photos, and the surrounding area is beautifully maintained, making it a pleasant place to spend some time. Visited on a beautiful Saturday evening, so peaceful to sit and relax. Kids really loved the place. There are informative plaques nearby that provide interesting facts about the lobster and the local fishing industry. The location is easily accessible with ample parking, and there are picnic tables and benches where you can relax and enjoy the view. The site is also conveniently close to local shops and restaurants, so you can easily make a day of exploring Shediac.

Ravikant A — Google review

God place for upto had an hour. Click picture with/on giant lobster statue. There are washrooms on site.A few antique and art shops and stalls from local artists.Nearby there are famous restaurants where you buy or eat lobster.

Anuj S — Google review

Great place for the kids to play and have fun for a while. It was not too crowded at that time and we got a whole bunch of photos. The restaurants nearby did not seem to be open or we were late.Construction is going on currently so give yourself an extra 10 mins driving time.

Nigel P — Google review

There's a touch tank in the visitor center there. Highly recommend going. Was absolutely amazing to learn about the lobsters and how they reproduce. Lots of fun and a little shops. Highly recommend coming here for some quick stop the people are super kind and the area was super nice I had no idea that there was an aquarium in touch tank inside the building. Definitely worth an ask and going on the tour

Andrew R — Google review

I was late in the evening, and probably everything was closed nearby by 5 or 6 PM. It was great to see the world's biggest lobster statue. As this is one of a kind, I believe definitely need to stop by if you are around in the area or passing through.

Alex P — Google review

I loved this giant lobster! Nothing says a road trip like a must see giant lobster in the middle of town. Can’t come to the lobster capitol and not get a picture ! Was super fun to get creative

Brittnee B — Google review

Coming from the province that loves large out of this world attractions, I had to stop at this one. It is very detailed and realistic and is actually pretty darn big. The lobster is up on a pedestal with a fisherman in front of him.

Musclecarlvr — Google review

Nice display of artwork!! The small village of stores are nice to visit. The Shediac Visitors Center, there, is very helpful and friendly !!!

Louis M — Google review

It's an iconic spot for photos and souvenirs but there aren't a ton of options.A trip out east is never complete without a stop here ❤️

Julie A — Google review

A nice place to take souvenir pictures of Shediac. Lots of stores nearby that offer snacks and mementos. I can say this site is well maintained and the people at the visitors’ centre are very accommodating & courteous.

Maria L — Google review

The gift shops are full of everything! Can get food there too. Around the lobster was busy so you do have to wait until you can get a picture if you don't want anyone else in it. There is alot of parking but it was full when we went during the week. There is also the lobster museum that offers tours in English and French, they do a presentation and there are touch tanks.

Alexa C — Google review

Great photo opportunity. 1 minute easy walk from carpark. Nice little boutique stores around the giant lobster

Nicholas G — Google review

We passed by this site during the off season of tourism. The lobster was actually being repainted; it was kinda cool to see how it was done. Unfortunately, the souvenir boutique was closed. We would consider re returning to see Shediac's full potential. If you go this summer, we are sure the lobster will be showing off it's beautiful colors.

Julie G — Google review

A busy spot but well worth a picture stop. Late afternoon is best when the sun is optimum but be patient, the stop is likely to be crowded. Next to the Lobster is a few quaint brightly coloured shops and an information building that helped us find local dog walking trails.

Bob W — Google review

I'm a fan of the giant lobster. Everyone who wanted a photo stood in an orderly queue and was respectful of each other. It's worth a stop for the photo op folks!

Vanessa B — Google review

Great place to stop. We just wanted a picture with the lobster but we ended up taking the Homarus tour. $12/adult $8/child, totally worth it. We learned a lot about lobsters, and even got to touch them. The hands on touch tanks were a huge hit. Kids help crabs, start fish and sea urchins. The little shops are cute and reasonably priced as well.

Joe S — Google review

Beautiful beautiful! The lobster was so realistic! A real piece of art. Also the shops were so cute we bought lots of souvenir and had ice cream and lobster rolls. My mom got sick so we did not do the museum tour but next time!

Deborah S — Google review

Quaint little town with lots of photo ops at Large Lobster statue and pier.

Glen F — Google review

World's largest lobster. Magnificent sculpture. Shediac's best tourist place.

Sharon C — Google review

Loved it! Probably the biggest lobster I will ever try to eat (I did not succeed). Great place to take pictures with it and show off to people who couldn't. The captain was the silent type and for some reason kept looking at the birds. Came early May before the season opened and we basically were alone. For sure would visit it again another time!

Ruichi — Google review

Fun place to stop. A few shops, a lobster roll place, and beautiful views. We must have visited during off season because the shops were closed but still fun to see the lobster statue.

Rebecca T — Google review

Nice setting with many small shops. Good stop to stretch the legs and grab a icecream on a sunny day

Toni K — Google review

Shediac’s world famous tourist trap. Very popular with tourists . Some gift shops there too and a snack shack too.

Dana G — Google review

A nice place to visit. A shop is tgere to have some short foods. A coffee costs $2. A clean nice place. No tickets needed.

Shashika P — Google review

A really fantastic sculpture, very realistic with lots of detail and great for getting selfies, especially with the steps added to get to the top. This was a must see on our trip, Shediac is the lobster capital only the world after all! Even if you are just driving through to get to P.E.I, it’s worth a stop to take a look and snap some pictures. We were out of season but from what we understand lots of shops and food places are open in the summer.

Jamie H — Google review

Fun and wonderful quaint little town and gift shops to showcase local arts and crafts products

Emelyn Z — Google review

Great place to stop and walk around. Lobster was being repainted when we were there so should look fresher soon.

Park

Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park, also known as Flowerpot Rocks due to its natural pinnacles and arches, is a coastal park located in Hopewell Cape within the Bay of Fundy. The rocks have been eroded into twisted shapes by the sea and are an other-worldly sight to behold. At low tide, a two-kilometre beach appears on what was once the ocean floor, providing easy access to the 20 wave-formed stacks via a wheelchair-accessible ramp.

The are breathtaking. We arrived around 1 and the tide was still out. We didn’t mind, but it would have been nice to see how far out it goes so if you want to do that then plan accordingly. The walk to the rocks is about 10 minutes depending how fast you walk(might be about 15 if you’re a bit slower). It is a little bit of an uphill walk back up. We stayed around and ate at the cafe while we waited for high tide at 4:30. It seems like a fair amount of time to stay at the rocks.Highly recommend!

J C — Google review

You do not need to book tickets in advance like Tobermory!!!There is a huge parking lot available free of cost.Approximately 35 dollars to get it and if you want the shuttle it's 2 dollars per person one way. It's a steep descent and the shuttle is highly recommended for older people or for those with disabilities. The shuttle runs every 5 minutes and is a lovely joyride. The park is well setup with trails and off course the rocks. They have bathrooms and a very nice gift shop on location. There is also a museum in the main building where you can learn all about Hopewell Rocks. The rocks themselves are a great experience where you can walk on the ocean floor during low tide and come back later during high tide to see water gushing all over where you were during low tide.Fantastic picture spot and I sure did go crazy clicking away. It's a lot of stairs down though to the ocean floor - so be prepared. They do have vantage points in case you cannot use the stairs.I believe there is both a low and high tide everyday.

Nigel P — Google review

Very cool experience in NB about 45 minutes from Moncton. It was interesting to walk on the ocean floor and then see the tide rise and make such a difference in 10 minutes! We arrived at around 10am in July when the low tide was around 8am. Even then the tide was quite far out from all the rocks and we leisurely explored for over 2 hours. The high tide was around 2pm but at noon there was still lots of time to explore the floor.I suggest you wear either sandals or waterproof shoes as it does get quite muddy in areas. I wore sneakers and they did get dirty but there’s a large shoe cleaning area at the top of the stairs to help everyone wash off.Parking is abundant with one of the largest parking lots of maritime attractions. There is also quite a large gift shop and exhibit in the building just past the gates. All the staff was very friendly and was more than happy to answer your questions and talk about the ecosystem that you’re walking through. The site is pet friendly and also very accessible. There are mandatory metal stairs to the ocean floor but there are multiple view points for people with mobility issues. This is a must see attraction in the province! Even at around $16 per person (+$2 for a shuttle to skip a 15 minute walk) I would say it was a very cool experience

Michael B — Google review

A perfect example of amazing nature!Worth visiting once in a lifetime.Crazy tides which just rise upto 36 feet on normal days everydayStaff is courteous and happily attends guests. Must visit the information centre museum alongwith the Flower Rocks.Ticket allows multiple visits for two days which is great, although on a bit expensive side, however, if you’re new Canadian you can use your Canoo app and get free admission.Parking is free

Mayank J — Google review

Hopewell Rocks is an amazing place to see just how significant the change of tide is in the Bay of Fundy. There is an admission fee to have access to the park, but your admission allows two consecutive days of entry. This is helpful if one wants to see the difference between the high and low tide versions of the park. The trails are very nice and lead to some excellent overlook points. They are wide and well-maintained. The stairway to the sea floor, though, is a stairway. Hence, there's no way for someone with significant mobility issues to get down. The Park Visitor Center has excellent displays, and a nice gift shop. There is also food available

Ed G — Google review

Awesome place. If you can come here make sure you have enough time to see both low and high tide. Ticket is good for two days so you'll have time if you plan well.So many pictures opportunities but be warned, there are lots of people at low tide so your pictures will include many others in them.We saw people kayaking at high tide and there is a great picture showing this in the information center.

Lee H — Google review

Beautiful place.. but when going, make sure you know when the tides are in and out, the first time we went it was high, we weren't allowed to go down . We took our receipt back and we were able to go down the next morning. I recommend that you pay the 2$ or use a token to use the shuttle.Mornings are best.. have fun

Stephanie D — Google review

Exceptional natural beauty. Absolutely recommended. Visit at low tide if you want to walk between the rocks. Check their website for tide tables. We walked down to the Flower Pot. The trail there is about 1 km and has a gentle slope that should be doable for most people. From the platform you can take a staircase with a few flights of steps down to the beach itself.Once at the beach, I recommend first walking to the right until the end, which is a few hundred yards over stones or slightly muddy patches, then walking back, continuing past the staircase and walking to the far left end of the beach where a ramp takes you back up to the trail. This way you will see all the rocks.Given the soil, I recommend wearing walking shoes or Wellington boots. If you prefer not to walk, there is a paying shuttle service from the park entrance down to the viewing platforms. A one-way trip costs 2 CA$ per person and toddlers are free.People in wheelchairs can ask the park attendants to get access to the parking near the beach. Getting down to the beach itself is possible via a wheelchair accessible ramp (the same one as described higher) but riding a wheelchair on the beach itself will probably not be possible.

Nick M — Google review

This was pretty cool to see, make sure to arrive at or near low tide as this is the best time to be able to walk around and appreciate how far the tide is out, very interesting to see. As the tide comes in the staff start to close off areas of the beach that are starting to flood. we watched for a while and then came back latter when the tide was all the way in, A great way to see the extremes. There is a shuttle of sorts if you want to take it bring cash. Gift store etc., bathrooms, nice walk to the staircase going down to the sea shore. Highly recommend 2-4 hoursDiscovercanadarving.ca

Greg J — Google review

Very much a must do if you are in the area..even if its raining. Just remember to come at low tide. Picnic areas and restroom in the parking lot. Good food in the cafeteria. Really nice staff. On a sunny day the $2 per person shuttle may be worth it on the way back, but in the rain it was very much welcomed both ways. Memories will be made here and are a requirement.

Nick K — Google review

Visited during low tide the day after a new moon. 🌑 Incredible landscape. I’m from Oregon and found myself in awe of how similar yet different the landscape was. So many rocks! Watch out for the mud and check the tides. Despite the official website warning visitors that the park is closed in the offseason, you can visit.

B.A.P. — Google review

Natural Marvel - that provides an unforgettable experience !! Visited it on the Memorial Day weekend, it was bit windy and drizzling which really enhanced the beauty of this amazing spot. The park is well-organized and accessible, with well-maintained trails and informative signage that provides interesting facts about the geology and history of the area.So many viewpoints give you the amazing landscape of the Bay of Fundy. The walk down to the ocean floor is beautiful, with plenty of viewpoints along the way to take in the stunning scenery.Watching these majestic rock formations especially the flowerpot rocks and during both high and low tide is a delight 🤩There are also excellent facilities, including clean restrooms, a gift shop, and a cafe. Enough picnic benches around. Also a kid’s play area next to the cafe.

Ravikant A — Google review

I found the place ok. The park is well-maintained, with clear trails and informative signage that enhances the visit. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, offering insights into the geology and ecology of the area. There are also several viewpoints and walking trails that provide panoramic views of the bay and surrounding landscape. Don't waste your money on buying shuttle up and down. They are really 10 min walk each way if you can manage a short walk. One tip is to plan a visit around the tide schedule so you can experience both high and low tides.Overall, Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park is a attraction for anyone traveling to the area. It’s a place where nature’s artistry is on and it offers a forgettable experience. Nothing that great unless you decide to wait for hours to walk down there on the low tide.

Sid — Google review

Nice place, clean, well managed.Must plan your trip as per tide timing. Do book for kayak in advance - we didn't get one day in advance and had to skip bcoz of tight schedule.$14 per person entry fee, valid for two consecutive days. The canteen/cafeteria is also good and reasonably priced.

Anuj S — Google review

This is totally worth every dollar to go! The view is amazing and even though it is busy there are more than enough opportunities to take fantastic photos. The hike / walk down to the rocks takes about 15 minutes and there is a shuttle that takes your down to the top of the stairs. You still have to take the 99 stairs down to the bottom! There is another area that does have a ramp to go down. At the rocks you will need to walk. Wear shoes you don’t mind getting muddy! Pets are allowed and no extra cost. There is an additional coat for the shuttle. It is $2 per person per trip and dogs are allowed on the shuttle. The line up to get in goes quick! Make sure you check the tide schedule before you go. We went August 2, 2022 from 10:30 am till 12 pm.

Shauna — Google review

There's free parking. The park has these walking trails. You got to pay the admission fee to get in. There's a shuttle buses service to get to the part where you're able to walk down the stairs I assume. There are toilets along the trail pathways.Depending on when you go, they have different opening and closing times. We went in the earlier dates so the times were from 9 am to 5 pm. You can still enter the park even after the 5 pm closing time. You don't need to pay. And there is still parking available outside of the gates. But, you may not be able to walk the ocean floor, or have enough time to enjoy your walk of the ocean floor (and to take lots of photos).Pretty looking rocks at high tide. Nice scenery. There are multiple lookouts to see the rocks and the nearby scenery.3:00/3:30 pm for the day that we went, we walkes on the ocean floor. And we took many photos of the Flower Pot Rocks. We took photos of the other rocks, whose names I don't remember. We walked back and forth on the ocean floor, over rocks, through mud, and through watery mud. It's recommended to bring and wear boots, like those rain boots, hiking boots, winter boots."Natural beauty. Beautiful. Many secrets in nature." - My Parents, 2023The guide we talked to was informative inside the information building. Told us about the wildlife and about the Hopewell rocks.Would recommend you spend the day here, to see the rocks in high tide/low tide and to see the rocks when there's no tide.

TheArchitect — Google review

Great park. Fair entry valid for a couple days so you can experience both high and low tides. The main hub area has play modules for kids. It's well maintained.Gift shop and washrooms also available. If you're going down to the Flower Pot Rocks, I'd recommend wearing shoes you don't care to dirty as they'll likely get mud on them. If they do, they have hoses and scrubs to clean your shoes at the top of the stairs.Breathtaking views.

Chris U — Google review

I loved everything about it! Admittedly seeing the extreme tidal change at the Bay of Fundy has been on my bucket list for a long time, finally getting to experience it did not disappoint. I definitely recommend the guided sea kayaking tour at high tide, but be sure to experience the difference at low tide either before or after, it's amazing!

Nathan L — Google review

Amazing day. Sun is out nice breeze blowing. Highly recommend this stop if in the area. The tide was going out, so there was a lot of mud but so worth going for a walk and seeing the shoreline. We spent 2.5 hours here before we knew it. I suggest going early to avoid crowds.

Nancy B — Google review

Hopewell Rocks offers breathtaking views, allowing you to witness the mesmerizing tides ebb and flow—a truly awe-inspiring display of nature's power. The sheer volume of water is a sight to behold. Keep in mind, though, that booking kayaks in advance is crucial to fully explore this remarkable coastal gem. Despite missing out on that, the stunning vistas alone make it a worthwhile destination for any nature enthusiast.

Leonard B — Google review

The Hopewell Rocks are definitely worth a visit. We got there first thing in the morning for low tide so we could explore the beach and then had lunch while we waited for high tide. We had a great time and loved seeing all the formations. It's a short walk to get to the rocks from the parking lot, but there is a shuttle for anyone who needs some assistance and then stairs to get down to the beach.

Vanessa B — Google review

Very well maintained.Long walk. Lots of stairs. They had a golf cart driver that you could pay to get a ride back to the parking lot.You have to pay to get in to the park to see the rocks. They have a very nice gift shop and a restaraunt in the facility

Leafyleanne S — Google review

A truly unique park, on the Bay of Fundy, with so much to offer, it's well worth a visit. We visited early morning at low tide. The park is well-maintained with well-groomed walking paths. The trails to the waterfront are a lengthy but easy walk and mostly shaded. There is also an option to pay for a shuttle from a golf cart driver. There are also many stairs descending to the waterfront. Once down at the ocean floor, it is absolutely breathtaking! There is so much beauty to see and explore. There is also a visitor center, with washrooms, a gift shop, and a cafe. There is an admission fee that allows you access to the park for two consecutive days.

Lorna T — Google review

Absolutely amazing! The hike down was marked well. They offer a shuttle if you can't walk the 10 minute hike to the staircase. Your ticket is good for 2 days and you can come and go as many times as you would like. The walk along the beach/ocean floor was picture perfect. Wish I could have seen it at high tide as well.

Savannah B — Google review

Sea, sand, stacks and caves too. Time to visit is crucial for best experience. So, visit twice in high and low tides will give you the best experience in a sense that the admission ticket has generously covered for 2 days visit. Also, enjoy a good meal at the restaurant near the entrance with splendid view of the mud flat at low tide. Anyway, stay as long as possible and DON'T see and run like so many tourists did.

Simon L — Google review

Such a beautiful place to visit. I was debating of taking the 2 hour trip from Saint johns but we'll worth it.Entry fee is $19 plus tax to walk down and if you'd like to take the shuttle down to the beach when the tide is down, it's $4 both ways. I walked down and paid to come up because that's a hike lol. Nice that they gave that option and it only cost me $2 to go up (well worth it if you don't want to hike up hill for 15 min)

Hopewell Rocks is a cherished destination for me and my furry friend. The descent down the trails is smooth, thanks to their excellent maintenance, allowing us to savor every moment of the journey. Arriving at the bottom, we're greeted by the awe-inspiring sight of the Bay of Fundy's iconic rock formations. From the lookout points, we're treated to panoramic views that never fail to captivate. It's a haven where nature's beauty shines, making each visit a treasured memory to hold onto.

Breanna J — Google review

An amazing experience ✨️ walk the ocean floor and admire the sea stacks (flower pots). After the a coastal ocean floor walk, visit the High Tide restaurant for tasty food that is also a generous portion. Tammy had a genuine smile and made sure our dining experience was as perfect as the view. We will definitely be back. It is so worth the road trip from Ontario. Love the assortment of souvenirs at the friendly shop as well. I wish I bought more lobster mood rings.

Elene L — Google review

Must see place, be ready to get your feet 👣 dirty. Nice 15 minutes walk in, but took a shuttle on the way back 2$ per person, too tired to walk back. Beautiful nature wonder, muddy water and tides, family friendly.

Andrei S — Google review

Love it here... It is a very hard Trek up and down because when you do get to where you have to walk down to get down to the rocks you're tired when you have to come back up. They do have a shuttle bus that takes you from the top to the bottom. I would recommend you doing the shuttle. I didn't take the shuttle and I was so tired. My legs hurt from walking up the hill, the 15-minute walk and down the hill and then also walking up all the stairs. It is not wheelchair accessible so if anybody is in a wheelchair they would only be able to go to the lookout part unfortunately.

Jennifer T — Google review

This place is a must see! The views are amazing. We went at low tide and were able to enjoy walking through the rocks and walking to the water. It's super muddy when you go at low tide so wear old shoes or sandals. There is beautiful trails with lots of plants and fungus to see. You can also shuttle to and from the top. At the entrance to the experience there is a gift shop and tiny educational museum. We had a great experience.

Candice D — Google review

Really beautiful and unique experience. Definitely recommend visiting. The earlier you go, the less busy it’ll be; the parking lot fills up pretty quickly!

Sarah F — Google review

We went before close to see lower tide and walk the ocean floor. The next day we went kayaking and got to see mid/high tide. What an amazing experience and well worth every step, second and penny.

Steve M — Google review

Please keep in mind the following details:Firstly, there is ample and free parking available. Secondly, there is an admission fee of nearly 40 Canadian dollars for a family of four. Upon entering, you will find a trail of less than 800 meters with some uphill and downhill paths. Additionally, you have the option to take the tour bus for 2 CAD per person. The landscape after low tide offers a stunning visual effect. As you walk down the steps to arrive next to the large rock, you'll marvel at the ingenuity of nature. The rock is covered in seawater at high tide and then reappears covered in water plants at low tide. I would like to acknowledge the responsible staff who use drones to check the top of the rocks for potential safety hazards.Lastly, when your shoes get muddy and sandy, there's no need to worry as there are manual sprinklers near the exit to clean your shoes.

Kevin L — Google review

Beautiful park, well worth a visit. Walk the bay floor at low tide . Experience the bay of Fundy up close. Check tide schedule before heading out to make sure you arrive at the right time. Ticket is valid for 2 days so you can experience it during low and high tide. Hike down to the bay or pay extra and take to golf cart ( great option for those with mobility issues or tight timelines) $2 each way for the cart . To get to the bottom completely there are several sets of stairs ,there is a viewing platform for those you cant make the trek down . There is also a more accessible beach down the way but doesn't have all the interesting rock formations. Pay attention to the times of tides , if you get stranded your rescue will cost you a pretty penny. Restaurant and nice gift shop with a kids playground located at the top near the parking lots. Lots of bathrooms along the way. Good boots recommended as it's get muddy walking around . Boot cleaning station available.

Julia P — Google review

Beautiful view. I love being able to walk on the ocean floor the only thing that I wish I would have seen was the difference between low tide and high tide as I missed the high tide the first time. There is an entry fee, but it lets you go to consecutive days, so you have the opportunity to see both tides and experience. The rocks and they're full beauty

Michelle D — Google review

Great place to visit when the tide is out. When I was there an employee said it was probably one of the busiest days ever. That being said, things were well organized and didn’t seem chaotic. I had forgotten to wear some crocs instead of my new shoes which I didn’t want to ruin. Gift store had some water shoes and sandals available to buy which allowed me to venture off in the mud with my kids.

Dave S — Google review

well groomed walking trails that are accessible. portable toilets along the route washroom available at start and end of trail. foot wash station for after your visit to the ocean floor.gift shop and restaurant in the main building.loads of parking.park pass allows multiple reentry even on the following day.

An incredible few hours spend here witnessing the lowest part of the tide, to start, with the gorgeous sunshine and gentle breeze… plus getting covered in mud, but that’s all part of the fun and adventure. Don’t go wearing your best shoes and clothes if you want to walk on the ocean floor. We stayed long enough to then with was the high tide coming in until it reached its maximum, what a dramatic effect and difference it is, completely changing the landscape, it’s incredible and makes for some stunning pictures.Be sure to check out the view points for gorgeous as well as the tranquil Plage de Demoiselles Beach.

Jamie H — Google review

Check this out for sure! Be prepared if you go down at low tide there is a lot to explore but be prepared to get muddy. Tons of photo opportunities.

Ryan S — Google review

The place opens from 9am to 5pm. However, before it's open or after it's close, you can still park near the parking lot, it will be about 3 minutes walk to the entrance. From there, you can follow the signed path to walk to several look out points (10 minute walk). We came here after the park was shut, managed to get some photos from the look out point. We returned the next day when the park was open to walk down to the rocks. Always check the tidal times.

Sasa C — Google review

There is an entry fee to help pay the upkeep of the site. We visited at the perfect time to walk below these majestic prehistoric rocks. The website of Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park allows you to view when the tide is high and low, that way you can decide when is the appropriate time to go. At the visitor centre, you will be welcomed by friendly staff at the souvenir boutique. Grab a bite to eat at the on-site restaurant; you will not be disappointed.

Julie G — Google review

I love this place. We went in July, 2024. There was a big crowd, but it didn't affect much. The crowd got smaller the further down I went on the beach. I went all the way to the end. Worth it.Definitely go at low tide. Plan on getting at least the bottom of your shoes/crocs/sandals muddy (it's the Bay of Fundy, duh), but there are plenty of hoses at the wash station. But allow yourself to get even muddier if possible. It's fun.

The Irving Eco-centre, Dune de Bouctouche, is a secluded and unpopulated area situated on Route 475 in New Brunswick. Its name originates from the Mi'kmaq term "Great little harbour" referring to the nearby town of Bouctouche. This beach destination features a beautiful 12km-long dune, which is one of the longest on North America's East Coast.

Revisit this place after winter. Love the boardwalk and nice beach view! Very well-maintenance place! What's a windy rainy shiny April day! Feeling contented for an off day!

Quynh N — Google review

Parking lot is on the opposite side of the road. Short walk from there to the boardwalk. The boardwalk has to be moved and rebuilt periodically as the dunes shift and storms hit so the current structure might not be the one you saw a few years ago. Beautiful spot.

I recently visited the Irving Eco-centre, la Dune de Bouctouche, and it was an incredible experience! The boardwalk is beautifully maintained and offers stunning views of the dunes and coastline. It's the perfect place for a peaceful walk surrounded by nature. The information boards along the way provide interesting insights into the local ecosystem. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, making the visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of New Brunswick.

Wow!!! Definitely the best & cleanest beach around here. Not crowded even on a beautiful holiday Monday. Can't believe I had never been to this beach until recently. Boardwalk is so lovely. Can't wait to be back!

Live 3km from this spot, weather permitting a daily walk on the dunes. Winter season many people come here to walk. Rest of the year just beautiful and it is free 🙂

I love this place, it's a beautiful boardwalk on a nice beach with an information centre on the dunes and the wildlife. Kid friendly.Be aware that you can't bring your dog here, nor can you bike or skate on this boardwalk (there is a decent bike path in another area of the eco-centre )

It is so very beautiful. The beach is amazing and so is the boardwalk. I highly recommend this tourist opportunity for anyone !!

Rachel L — Google review

I'll have to return this summer to truly experience the beach. I went there for the eclipse and it was high tide so not much beaching to be done, and washrooms were not open. It was nice sand and if you have binoculars you can look across to PEI! I imagine a lovely beach day could be had in summer! Lots of shells to check out

Taylor V — Google review

We enjoyed a lovely relaxing walk on the board walk along the sand dunes. In speaking with a very pleasant lady who was setting up some fencing, we learned that the sand dunes have been greatly affected by major storms like Fiona that have come through the area. As a result the dunes are decreasing in length. Most importantly, vegetation and sea shells must remain undisturbed so they can continue to nourish the soil and keep the remaining sand dunes thriving for all of us to enjoy! There was no cost and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Well worth the visit!

As I scrolled down the reviews, I saw photos the same as what I took, so I am not duplicating them. The best park by far from the other boardwalks I went to. The best day we spent on a picnic as a family while my partner was busy taking landscape photography in the area. I don't mind a long walk at all in-healing the fresh air from the ocean.Next time we get back here maybe we will stay at the closest campground or chalet nearby because this is a beautiful park to visit from!Thank you, New Brunswick! The best highway in all Maritimes provinces.

Hidden gem, free access to beautiful sandy beach, with Irving staff working around the property. Long board walk but multiple access to the beach, you won’t have to walk far to get to the beach.

Ka L — Google review

Walked on the raised boardwalks of the dune beach. It's a short walk, not that long, probably a 30 min walk if you take your time really.Along the way, there are these information displays about the nature/wildlife found there. There are these information buildings at the beginning of the walk pathways. There's the main one with a person in it who will answer your questions and help you out. There's the second building that has a mini information museum. It was an enjoyable walk. Though we went on a day that was cloudy, rainy, and super windy. Would have been better if there was sun and less wind.Check the weather before you come here.

The Eco-centre main building and washrooms were closed, since I visited in the late fall. There is plenty of free parking, on both sides of the main entrance. The boardwalk tower has a pair of binoculars that gives you a clear view of P.E.I and is lovely at any time of year.

Jeannie D — Google review

The beach is incredible. We stayed a few kilometers down the road and came here several times. The waves were always small . Our kids skim boarded a ton. The community really backs this. Staff walk the beach frequently to pick up litter and maintain the grounds.

This is a great place to go when you want to explore different ecosystems. There's the beach, boardwalk, forest, open land. The park is free with free parking across the road. The boardwalk would probably take 10-15min one way. There's also a viewpoint booth on an upper level, and a building with various types of information on the area and history.

Mat B — Google review

Both my lovely wife Pat and I enjoyed walking amongst this amazing sand dune. The well-built boardwalks were a pleasure to walk along and the views were fantastic.Hope this place continues to exist for many more years. Both our dogs would have enjoyed it, but dogs are not allowed on the dune. We understand they have a dog service (dog sitting), but we opted to leave our 2 in the vehicle since it was perfect weather for it (not too hot and not too cool).

Tony B — Google review

We enjoyed walking the boardwalk through the dunes. There are signs along the walk that help educate on some of the animals in the area. It was good to learn about the work going into protect the biodiversity while enjoying the scenery. It's definitely a nice place to check out.

Really nice little beach area. The boardwalk leading up to each little spot of beach was lovely and the dunes are signposted with all kinds of little information boards. Really well done and great under foot.I particularly enjoyed that visitors are encouraged NOT to remove shells and it seems to work. Lots of lovely shells for everyone to look at.

Le Pays de la Sagouine in New Brunswick is a theatrical village that brings to life the Acadian culture depicted in over 40 novels by author Antonine Maillet. The reconstructed fishing village showcases the daily life of La Sagouine, an uneducated washerwoman known for her candidness. Visitors can enjoy various performances, including plays, dance, and music as they explore the different buildings.

I found this place amazing. From this area you can learn what Acadians really are. Just for the love of their culture, music, and their history, plus the pride in it, it's worth the visit.

This was a superb show! We didn’t know what we would find and only caught the final two acts but was not disappointed!! The actors are enthusiastic, fun, and so talented. We are starved for French language and culture events where we live so this was a real treat for us. Will definitely recommend and be back!

Kenny L — Google review

This place has found its way again. We did not realise how much French would be spoken and came at the wrong time for an English show … but one of the many performers scooped us up and gave us a private orientation while the French show was on. We learned a great deal about the Arcadian culture and history. We then visited several areas and each performer (one or two wait in each building to engage with you, if you initiate it) was able to engage entertainingly with us in English. We watched the tail end of a French show on our way out, and could see the audience were captivated and entertained by it. The buildings themselves are interesting and in good repair, and the entry allows you to return the following day.

Jan G — Google review

We had a great morning here. Make sure you check the schedule for the language of the presentations, which are excellent, the history of Acadia presentation in the hangar was my highlight. The site is easy to explore on your own, and it's accessible. The site is split into two sections, the 'land' and the 'island', the activities on the land were excellent, the island felt like it needed some love, and that there was nothing happening except for a singing/dance performance in French. There are houses that you can go in and explore, but zero information about what they represent, the time period, or the significance of the building. There also appears to be a cooking section, which was also abandoned when we visited. There is food available on site, it's fairly expensive and the choices on the island are mainly fried. Please bring a water bottle, the only water to purchase was an $11 reusable water bottle. Is it good value for money? I wouldn't say for the $70 it cost my family of 4 to enter that it was.Would I recommend that you visit? If you understand some French, yes. If you don't speak any, then I would have a hard time doing so.The response I got was fair, and if they made it clear and explained that the locations would be manned (maybe a little clock with a return time, or a sign at the entrance of the building) then I would say that it's a great visit.

Excellent spot for fun, relaxation and learning. They have many different types of live performances and shows where you get to learn about the Acadian people and their traditions. There's hiking and activities and the Akadi Lumina experience is unbelievable. It felt as though you were walking through a fantasy where you were traipsing through an enchanted misty forest where you experience the Acadian history like never before. At points you're enveloped in darkness and others, bathed in light as the forest came a live around us.

We really enjoyed the short videos of La Sagouine which provided info on the the acadian culture and history. This was followed by a music and story telling " Les folkloriques " well worth the time!

Doris M — Google review

Went to Akashi Lumina and it was everything we'd hoped for in terms of a world-class immersive experience. It's difficult to describe the extent to which the 1.5 km "walk in the woods" engaged all our senses. Loved that it finishes with a chance just to sit around and have a beverage and a snack, if so desired. We will be taking out-of-town guests to this reasonably priced, family-friendly venue. Highly recommended.

Wonderful place to visit if you're interested in Acadian culture. So many things to see and lots of activities going on all day.If you understand English only check the guided tour time for English. If you are a music lover, definitely going to enjoy it.Small walk to each site and to the island. Restaurant (snacks) and beer available.Friendly service and must visit place

It was so interesting to visit, and I especially loved the music & songs. It is visitor friendly in that getting around is made easy. 'La Sagouine' by A. Maillet has always intrigued. A simple but unique & funny close-up take on life, from a humble worker's point of view. The setting is beautiful, and the people were so friendly. I certainly will return. I've yet to try the highly recommended buffet.

LePays de la Sagouineis a tourist park in the town of Bouctouche, New Brunswick, which pays tribute to the writings of Antonine Maillet. The story of La Sagouine, a poor Acadian cleaning lady is brought to life in a prohibition-era Acadian fishing village. The replica village stands on a small island in the river, connected by a boardwalk to the shore. I haven't been lucky enough to pass through NB when the island is open, and the play is being performed- but always enjoy the opportunity to take a hike through the shoreline trails.

What a beautiful experience. Because of health issues, I'm trying to do things I would never do before it's too late. Zip lining is one of them because of fear of heights. If it wasn't for the staff at each station from paying...suiting me up....and at the top of the platform encouraging me n my friend....we both would have backed out half way up the stairs ...but at each station , the workers made you feel like you could do it. Awesome first time adventure with my son. We will return!!We both thought the service in the Pub was lacking. It was slow to get seated, even though 1/3 of the seating was empty. Our table wasn't even cleaned off when we're seated. When we saw the menu and the pricing we opted for fast food when we left.

Buffet price has gone up significantly vs a few years ago. Current members price was $24 vs $15 last time I went. Selection was also a bit lower than previously as well. Service was excellent (much better than previous visit) . Overall I would still recommend it.

Steven B — Google review

Pat, my lovely wife and I, live not far from this fabulous casino. We first visited this establishment just after the height of COVID back in 2021. Restrictions were still in place. Gambling tables were not open. Buffet was still closed down and attendance was low. Shows were still not taking place. Some time later, Pat and I have been delighted to have attended one of the first showings, since COVID restrictions, in their large stage area (Buddy Holly tribute). Seats were not packed since many people were still playing it safe and staying home. The shows venue and performance was fantastic. We've both enjoyed a few meals in the casino's small restaurant within the casino's main floor area next to the many gambling machines. We have also been to their large buffet area for at least one of each of the afternoons they are open. Each night open there is a different special and selection (repeats every week). We strongly recommend obtaining their membership card, if of age, for meal savings at every visit (cost nothing).Be careful, it's very easy to gain weight at their buffet. So many items to choose from and we've yet to find something we didn't like. Meals are delicious and I always have trouble leaving room for dessert, but I do manage. Even with their desserts, the choices are many.Weve learnt that if one needs a dessert without sugar, just ask one of the attendants and they will happily bring an item out from behind their separation wall. This is but another place Pat and I enjoy being able to treat ourselves to once in a while, here in Moncton, NB.Neither of us are big gamblers but we do enjoy meandering through the Gambling area on our way out (buffet is at the far end of the casino floor).Pat and I have brought loved ones to this place more than once and will continue doing so in future, God willing.Since we live so close to this casino, renting a room has never been a consideration but, from what we've seen, we're sure they're well kept. Both of us have enjoyed walking their main hotel corridor which displays past celebrities that have performed and stayed at this fine casino/hotel.We have also driven along their back parking lot to check out the many different campers using their lot for temporary parking. Very nice layout and compassionate of the owners to allow campers with limited parking.

Best casino ever. They always over serve customers as long as you give big tips. A great place to spend thousands and get loaded drunk!! They are funny too. When you ask for something milk free for your coffee they laugh and say what do you think this is Starbucks??Such hams!!

Great service at the hotel check in today. The employee informed us that since we were booking a suite for two nights we could take advantage of the extreme players package. This discounted out rooms and offered $200 in free play at the casino. It was nice of him to let us know. We had no idea. We will definitely do this again.

Always an awesome experience. Only thing is the Hotel needs a refresh. Dark paint, dark furniture, dark walls. Needs some paint and some brightening up. Great experience always though, awesome spot to have a getaway. One stop entertainment and dining experience and we love it and go as often as possible!

Great experience! Everything was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The slot machine area supervisor, Brandi was especially great! She was friendly, upbeat, and made our experience pleasant. She’s definitely an asset to the staff.

We went for the buffet. Food was ok, bigger selection would have been nice. The staff though are amazing very friendly, helpful. Can't say enough about the wonderful staff.

Love their blackjack table. The lucky charm bet on the blackjack table is the best. It has always been proven lucky for me. The crowd over there is also nice, if you are new people will help you play on the table.

The vibe was great until a pit boss asked someone for ID for getting $400 cash charged to chips... when the player showed his ID he was then asked his occupation...and answered drug dealer... the pit boss said... I have to report it... then he said he is a Millwright... then the pit boss said he didn't know what that was....😆 😂 😆 😂...seriously? I'm out!

Our room was cleaned once during our 4 night stay. The checkin staff refused to even entertain checking us in early, citing that our room wasn’t ready at 3pm. He was very rude and condescending. Yet the cleaning staff informed us they stopped cleaning at 2pm and all rooms were ready. The pool and spa conveniently closed the first day of the YQM festival and reopened the day it ended. They hyped up the amazing shower in the king suites, that was a major disappointment. It was a large shower that was narrow, without shelves and just had 1 single shower head. The lighting in the room was absolutely terrible. The staff in the bar/casino area were lovely.Overall the experience was underwhelming and definitely not worth the money paid to stay there.

We had a fun trip to the casino, hitting several mini jackpots. Thank you for letting us play before donating our money.

As far as hotels go, this place was refreshing.Pros:-lots of parking-casino-adjacent-pool and hot tub-spacious rooms-very, very long shower!-near the main road, gas station, and several amenities (including the zoo, magnetic hill, a winery, a water park-clean room-convenient if attending any on-sight eventsCons:-dated (rooms, showers, facilities), staining or tile tarnishing makes it look a little dirty. Just needs a little upgrading inside.-taps and fixtures installed were not a good design (design not hotels fault, but selection might be), managed to rip it out of the wall without breaking it because of cumulative rotation of many guests. Able to screw in again completely but not after getting sprayed with freezing water for 5 minutes.-not Hotels fault: nearby amenities close very early, even in "busy" season. Nothing active after 5 pm. Just something to know about location.- booking through TD for Expedia means you are not eligible for "stay and play" voucher (didn't matter for us, might for people who come to gamble)-though website lists poker, it is only active 2-3 days each week. Was a bummer for us as one of our party was really eager-nothing walkable nearbyOverall, recommend staying if the above doesn't put you off. I would recommend it to friends. Would give 4.5/5* if halves were allowed.

We were just at the casino and were very disappointed that the Buffet we used to like to go to has been changed to only 3x per week. The slot machines were no better than Halifax

Stayed here with my wife for a concert. Was very disappointed. Hot tub was down. No spa. Rooms were nice but the shower had no hot water. I was excited but in the end it wasn’t a good experience.

We stayed here 2 nights. This hotel was very clean, spacious, and QUIET! We slept so good and really enjoyed our stay. We used the pool on the last night and it was very clean and lovely as well. Would absolutely stay here again.

Terrible dining experience....30 dollars each upfront plus they asked for a 10 dollar tip up front...30 minute wait....prime rib was cold and dry.....canned gravy....powdered potatoes....and fried chicken was absolutely rancid.....never again!

Rooms are clean but I gamble and now reside within 45 minute drive, so no longer get comp rooms which is unfair and do not get anything to replace that comp.Buffet is normally good but unfortunately if you wish to gamble on Sunday to Tuesday, tough luck as there is not a buffet on these days.14 months(twice a week) of gambling in this casino and yet to walk away ahead of the game.Heard a new native casino is coming near Dieppe so I agree with many patrons in Casino NB, that either it will need to start paying out or will need to be sold in order to keep patrons coming.Oh, and I lose $5000 and may get enough points for a free buffet. Pretty sick if you ask me.Received a waste of time reply from a manager to contact them but I wouldn't get a email reply anyhow as itried before. But here today I've placed $1100 in a Dragon Link machine and received zero bonus spin after spinning 341 spins. A lady next to me betting $30/spin has not received any win over $300 after well over 400 spins. Government should pose a million dollar fine towards this casino for first offense and shut the doors on second offense.

we stayed at the Casino hotel Aug 9th and 10th 2024, we were there to see a show at the Molson Canadian Centre. We stayed in room 414, room was very large and comfortable but had peeling wall paper in bathroom ( as seen in photos) chips and damage to bedroom wall, but over all comfortable room just showing it's age. The staff were wonderful 10 outta 10, both front desk and cleaning. at this point I would give a 4 outta 5 except for...........parking. Parking was horrible. if there is a show don't expect to have and parking out front of the hotel after 7pm. There are to parking area out back but no back entrance so expect a 100m to 200m walk around the hotel to get to the front, sucks if it raining. So if my advice if your coming to the casino or the see a show the hotel is great place to stay, if your coming to Moncton to see other attractions stay at a different Hotel.

Craig L — Google review

The buffet host with blonde hair has the LEAST welcoming vibe in the history of restaurants. If she's trying to do an impression of someone who hates her life then someone should let her know that we get it already. LADY, why do you hate every restaurant customer? People are afraid to ask you a question because of your overall demeanor. CHANGE your attitude and stop being such a stuck up RESTAURANT MANAGER and ruining people's dinner.

Hands down currently the best poker tournament structures on the east coast and the match the stack cash games are 🔥 on Thursday & Friday nights. I don't stay or play tables games so I can't speak to those but the poker room is A1

We dropped into the casino for an hour while travelling through New Brunswick. It is small but has good slots and for a small pace the payouts were decent! Free tea and coffee as well as soda pop while you gamble. Table games were not open on the evening that we were there (Tuesday) but we didn’t mind because there was a nice variety of slot machines. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes to win on slot machines!

Great place to spend a nice evening. Casino was good. We didn't win, but that's the risk of gambling, lol. The dealers were really friendly. The hotel was amazing. Really large room with a super comfortable bed. Will definitely return.

I have stayed many many times at the casino. For many different reasons, and have never been dissatisfied. The front desk clerk Amanda is so kind. I have had the pleasure of her waiting on me multiple times. Always a smile and great at answering any questions or concerns.I have been here for medical reasons and appointments and have never had an issue. Always look forward too staying here.

Leanne D — Google review

First of all, this is a review of the Casino, not the hotel. Google doesn't seem to differentiate between the two. So rooms, service and location really don't apply here. I should also mention on this note, Google doesn't seem to have a number for the poker room specifically and it sure is a pain having to call the hotel and be transferred everytime. Moreover, when the poker room is closed and you're transferred to the pit boss, they genininely seemed confused by basic questions and are rude off phone when they are asking their colleagues information they should already know. All of this isn't the point however, the point of this review is that the poker chips in the Casino are disgusting and look as though they haven't been cleaned or replaced since the Casino opened. The chips literally stick together and have visible gunk on them. Gross! God knows how many people have touched these chips and just coming off a Pandemic this is disgusting and not acceptable.

Buffet is not the greatest but that is all you have to compare it with locally I guess it's ok a bit pricey for what they have to offer. The main course was pork belly.

Daniel D — Google review

Was there many time but mostly for concerts the venue is awesome and big but my only issues are that if I paid to see a band and I have to sit I don't want to have security standing in front of me so I can't see the show thats not what I paid for also your pop prices need to be lower considering your only using cans of pop to fill cups. Also the buffet is absolutely wonderful 😋

Zoo

Outdoor Activities

Magnetic Hill Zoo, situated approximately 15 minutes away from Moncton city, is a vast wildlife park that houses over 400 domestic and exotic animals. It also boasts a towering playground, barnyard, and pony rides for visitors to enjoy. The zoo is the largest of its kind in Atlantic Canada and was named fourth on Canada's top ten zoos list in 2008.

Our first date was at the Magnetic Hill Zoo and we make an annual visit on each NYE. This year was one of the better visits for sure as tons of new lights and even the barn lights were sync'd to the music. It makes a perfect date location and so much fun to see all the lights!

Joel G — Google review

We go to the Wild Lights display annually and it is always a magical time for the whole family. Our daughter (8) and her best friend have a blast. This year was a significant improvement from last - more lights, better maintained (last year a lot were out), and we loved the musical light display at the barn area. We were also glad to see some animals were NOT out - specifically last year the panther was out and was visibly distressed being directly across from a loud music and moving light display. We also stop for a Beaver Tail - and was pleased to see the dining area well spaced out and sanitizing wipes available to clean tables. However the lines we congested without adequate space for distancing. Also noticed a lot of dropped masks and some refuse in the walkways.Wins - Light displays, affordability, playground, food and drink options, clean bathrooms, clear marking for walking and directions, and full evening of enjoyment.

This was our second visit with our 2 small children. It's a nice easy morning at the zoo. It's a smaller zoo but has a variety of animals. Most animals are awake and active in the morning but reached the lion by noon and they were sleeping. The park is clean and well organized. Some sections are a work in progress. It would be great to see more spaces filled. The animals have a nice natural space and are well cared for. We had a surprise presentation when we arrived at the otters. The presentation was informative and entertaining. We had our lunch at the kids park which is suitable for all ages. Ended the day at the magnetic hill which was a fun experience.

Yanik — Google review

It's been years since I've been to the zoo but decided to take my kids here for an afternoon. We went in October so there were some cute pumpkin/photo ops and some interesting exhibits and enclosures. The petting zoo was fun to feed the deer and goats as well and I'm so happy they finally have it fenced in rather than letting all the animals roam free like before. All that being said, the prices here were insane. 3 adults and 2 children for $64 and to top it off, they don't even provide you a map of the grounds. We were asked if we wanted to buy a map to help with "conservation". We exited through the gift shop and the prices there were equally as wild (excuse the pun). I was also a bit disappointed none of the food vendors were opened but perhaps because it's the off-season it wasn't available. Overall it was a fun afternoon for the kids but nowhere we'll be back to anytime soon due to the cost.

Katie E — Google review

Perfect place to spend the day with kids. Lots to see as well as interactive experiences. Book ahead to avoid the line. Have loonies on hand for the feed stations. Kids can also do horseback riding for 7.00.

It was really fun visiting this place. We went early morning just after breakfast. It was really refreshing after watching all those animals.

Amandeep K — Google review

Delightful experience! The zoo is well-organized and offers a wide variety of animals, from local wildlife to exotic species. The layout of the zoo makes it easy to navigate, with clear signage and informative displays that offer interesting facts about the animals. The zoo also has excellent facilities, including clean restrooms, a gift shop, and several spots to grab a snack or meal. There are plenty of shaded areas and benches, making it a comfortable place to spend a few hours exploring. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that some sections of the zoo could use a bit of updating, few places were really very stinky. However, overall, the experience was fantastic and enjoyable for both adults and kids.

Ravikant A — Google review

Love this zoo. I've gone a couple times now with different age groups and everyone seems to enjoy thier visit. The staff are friendly, the amenities are clean and the animals are usually moving around which makes the experience even better .

Justin R — Google review

This place is very well taken care of. The kids always love the huge park it’s a great spot for them to burn off some energy in the middle of our venture through the park. The animals appear to be well taken care of with reasonably sized enclosures. Come down from Truro every year. Can’t wait to go back.

Victoria M — Google review

It was interesting that the Magnetic Hill has a zoo. The price was quite surprisingly cheap ($9 for adults) and even cheaper for kids. We came early May during off season and there was no waiting time. The animal selection is just ok compared to other zoo I've been to, but it was still fun. The zoo was quite clean and well-maintained. It takes about an hour to an hour and half for us to see everything. The otters and goats were particularly cute.

A lovely zoo nestled in nature. Staff is happy to answer any questions. The animals were very active that day so my daughter was able to get some nice close-up shots.

This was our first visit here. was very pleased. prices are good.ànd lots of different animals to look at.with there were more monkeysbas they are my favorite. and we went fist thing in the morning which was great for crowd wise but I think they animals would be more active later in the day. they were pretty lazy in the morning beside the otters.also would be nice it the feeding times were posted somewhere for us to see.the gift shops were very nice lots to choose from.also don't forget to bring some change for the couple of spot you can feed a few of the different animals. they also do pony rides for kids 12 and under inthink it was $7.00

Karen G — Google review

Excellent zoo! Put aside approximately 3 hours to walk this zoo of well cared for animals and knowledgeable staff! Be sure to ask to see Matilda; an 18-foot octopus that is only shown to those who ask to see her.

Steve ( — Google review

Awesome spot to spend a couple of hours. Reasonably priced and amazing animals and the zoo is well laid out and easy to follow. I advise going early cause the animals tend to sleep and be lazy in the afternoons in the heat. Lots of amenities like bathrooms and playground for kids and a nice big area to get food and eat inside.. it's wheelchair accessible and you can get wheelchairs there for a small fee.

I had an amazing visit! I loved it! Beautiful place. The animals were absolutely wonderful. They all seemed to be well fed and healthy.

The zoo is absolutely beautiful and such a lovely big space to walk around! The playground is amazing for kids as well. All the animals seem very well taken of 😊

Great zoo, didn’t feel too crowded but we also went on a very hot weekday. They have a little food area in the middle with a large playground which was great for kids of all ages. I didn’t see any water fountains so we did have to buy water as it was a very hot day. Wish they had picnic tables in the parking lot or entrance as we came from away and made it a day trip, but didn’t feel it was set up very well for traveling families. Also purchase the tickets ahead of time as they charge an additional 5% at the door.

Felicia A — Google review

This was a pretty good zoo, Wait times are minimal. It is not that expensive to get in. Parking was easy to find. It's not too big and not too small of a zoo. There were two animals that looked pretty Haggard, A reindeer and a deer. Maybe it's just the time of year and they're trying to shed out to their winter coat, however, the reindeer had very labored breathing. Maybe it was just because it's hot?One of the gibbons was also swinging around using only one hand.. this seems odd to me, but maybe it's just a habit that this particular Gibbon has picked up.Food options are great (however, incredibly expensive) And there's a great big jungle gym that sometimes I think the kids had the most fun on. I would definitely come back in the future. The enclosures all seemed appropriate for sizes for each animal. Some definitely seem a little more lively than others lol. Also don't get too close to the Jaguar, I witnessed the male spraying ..

Savannah F — Google review

This zoo has lots of cool animals! There are lions, a tiger named Amur, monkeys, cows, ostriches, otters, and even pony rides. It's fun for everyone because you can see big and small animals and even ride a pony.

Kids loved their experience at the zoo. There was a very nice variety of animals to be seen.Dissappinted we did not get a paper map as we had some trouble finding the exit (the trees were hiding the sign)Suggestion: add feeding times to the map. My kids would have loved to see that!!!

During the winter the zoo has a beautiful display of lights. Definitely worth taking that walk. You get to see some animals and you can enjoy a hot cup of cocoa and stay warm by a fireplace before continuing the walk and at the end you can stop at the souvenir store. lots of variety in items.

One hour fun for kids to roam inside watching animals seemed to be tired always. We see few play areas for kids and here and there bottled can vending machines and shops with snacks and drinks. We missed the water splash and dry games within the same area, soon next time! One day trip will be more fun ❤️

Nanthini S — Google review

It was ok, I visited zoo where animals seemed more happy, had a better place to evolve, more space. The pumas just walked along the same path, so did the wolf, left me a bit sad. It make me think of the prisoner who walk the same path every day. I think it's the fence, there's too much of it. The Halloween decorations was top notches.

Although we only had a chance to view the Africa area, we were impressed with the animals and the facilities. The parking was ok, we were lucky to find a spot around noontime. And there was a long line at the gift shop. And some of the drink dispensers weren't working. But overall, still a great trip.

I recently visited this zoo, and I was thoroughly impressed by the wide variety of animals they have on display. From majestic lions to playful otters and everything in between, it's a diverse collection that caters to all animal enthusiasts. What stood out even more was the impeccable cleanliness and well-maintained enclosures. The animals appeared healthy and content. The zoo's commitment to conservation and education was evident in their informative exhibits and interactive programs. It's a perfect family-friendly destination that provides a memorable and educational experience for visitors of all ages.Went back again after the winter. I might just keep coming back.

Magnetic Hill Park, located in the foothills of Magnetic Hill in Moncton, is a popular destination for locals and tourists. The park offers an intriguing optical illusion where cars appear to roll uphill when placed in neutral on the road leading to the hill. Visitors can drive themselves to the park and follow signage to experience this phenomenon. Additionally, the park features gift shops, restaurants, and a water park for visitors to enjoy.

Magnetic Hill is a great novelty to check out on your way through on while staying in the area. The park has been fully capitalized with gift shops, restaurants and even a water park. It is a truly unique spot to visit and doesn't take too long to check out. 10/10

We went to magnetic hill park to experience magnetic hill. When we got to the hill itself, it was an absolute cluster F of vehicles going in all directions. They tell you to move over to the left lane beside the white post. Vehicles were trying to exit in the same lane. While we were waiting our turn, the guy in front of us got out of his vehicle and started yelling at us to put our vehicle in neutral and start rolling backwards even though it wasn’t our turn. Once we had our turn, it wasn’t what it’s cracked up to be - in our opinion. You’re rolling backwards down a slight grade to gain momentum to go upgrade? We got frustrated and left.If anyone from the park Is reading this review, please take note that there needs to be staff coordinating traffic in this area or more signage in place in the area to direct people in lanes and where to wait their turn. As someone else stated in their review, it’s only a matter of time before there’s a fender bender.I’m sure the rest of the park is a great attraction, but until this park sorts out this traffic coordination issue, don’t waste your money and time on this.

Fundy National Park of Canada is a world-renowned high-tide park located in New Brunswick. The park experiences the highest tides in the world and features pristine forests, deluxe Brunswick campgrounds, and a tinge of Atlantic Canadian culture.

Visited the park in 2016 summertime. The hiking trail is nice with lots of trees, and close to lakes. The view of sea is absolutely beautiful under sunshine. My dog JJ enjoy it!

This is must visit site. Beautiful park taking in coast and forest. Good visitor centre and plenty of parking and toilets. Short easy trails right through to wilderness trecking. Lots of lakes. For eating go just out of the park to the small fishing port of Alma.

Bob C — Google review

Amazing hikes and trails, as well as appropriate facilities in the campgrounds. The tides are high and beach exploration at low tide is a must at point Wolfe. Big spruce trees and right beside Alma, a cute little tourist area. The appeal is the undeveloped, low population factor.

Jethro K — Google review

Beautiful and peaceful national park. Learn about natural animals and plants. Or, go for a walk in the woods, they have all levels from easy to difficult trails.

Everything about Fundy is special to me. Been going there camping my whole life in NB and it's my favourite spot here in the province, and now we take our kids to start learning to love it too. If you want that special time outdoors with your family Fundy has it all, hikes, ocean, camping, parks, and all of it is focused on nature and appreciation for the outdoors. Clean well maintained federal park, services aplenty and some of the best hiking in the Atlantic provinces.

Fundy NP was an amazing attraction. The visitors center and gift shop were amazing. There were many overlooks with amazing views. We stayed in the oTentiks and they were great. They had great space and amazing mattresses. It was very cozy as well. We did some trails and we were not dissapointed.

Beautiful park with lots of things to do. Great trails with amazing views. I recommend you to see Dickson Falls and Shiphaven trails, Point Wolfe Beach

Such a varied park. Waterfalls, beaches, forests, and massive tides. The red chairs are perfect for chilling and instagramming. There are plenty of trails to enjoy quiet walks, and there are myriad places to just sit and enjoy nature. Lovely place for a visit.

Fundy Park is a favorite place of mine for hikes, beautiful views and enjoying nature. I did the Third Vault Falls trail, about 7.5 km round trip. Hiking to the falls is relatively easy, all downhill with the last 800 m rather steep. Heading back is a lot more tough, especially the first 800 m! I visited in May so the water levels were high and had to be careful crossing the streams in a few spots.A good hiking sneaker is all you need, preferably water proof. Bring some water and a protein bar for the break at the falls. I saw a lot of folks with walking sticks, and a few families as well.Happened to be low tide when I got back to Alma, so enjoyed a stroll on the beach too.A must see!

Awesome lookouts and a well defined trail. Lots of spots to look out over the water and a great waterfall too

Dickson falls is an extraordinary gem! Wolfe point beach is absolutely stunning. The water fall is pure and vibrant, the children and I adored every min of it! Grateful for these memories

Stephanie G — Google review

Amazed at the size of the park. It was so beautiful and huge. The look off was so high that my friends and I saw the top of a cloud, and the water in the bay of Fundy was unbelievably warm. There were so many cool rocks, and the waterfall area was super cool.

Well worth the extra few hours of driving to get here. Loved going down to Point Wolfe and seeing the covered bridge. The visitors center is also very clean and there are plenty of scenic pull-offs and short trails along the main road.

We were going to drive from Quebec to PEI with no stops in New Brunswick. We ended up staying in this park for 15 days and still felt like we needed more time! Unreal hikes without the crowds you get in other places. Campgrounds get VERY busy and loud but it is a great place to vacation. The Salmon River hike is great, and quiet. Waterfall hikes and hikes along Fundy Bay are also amazing.

Lots of people have already posted pictures of the beautiful sceneries. I just want to recommend the Cookhouse. They are the savior of our hungry stomaches when we didn't bring our lunch. The delicious sandwiched are hand made by their staff with fresh ingredients at reasonable prices. The chocolate cookies are so yummy that my kids gobbled a dozen a flash. The staff are so nice and friendly. If you're hungry, it's a great place to go!

Sarah L — Google review

This was my first visit to the park. The National Park is located within a short walk to the quaint town of Alma which has restaurants, a micro brewery and the famous Kelly's Bake Shop and shops too. There are an abundance of hiking trails where you can explore the coastline and ocean floor, or hike in the woods and swim in a waterfall. This is a magical place and I will be back soon!

Kate S — Google review

Weekend adventure for hubbys birthday absolutely love this amazing National Park. There is so much to see and do I wish we booked a longer trip. Next time 😉

So worth the drive and admission cost. Would love to go again someday, I feel like there is more to take in! But we got the highlights. As beautiful as the cape breton highlands.

Such a beautiful park to visit. There is a small entrance fee but it's not too much. Lots of trails to choose from. I did Mathews head trail. Very senic and lots to do. Make sure to stop at the visitor center to use the washroom as the other washroom is a little far away.

Mr R — Google review

Probably one of the coolest parks I've been too. Really nice during fall.I completes Mathews head trail first. Lots of mud and exposed roots. Gotta be careful you don't hit a tree root and roll your ankle. There is a collection of walking sticks at the start of the trail. I recommend taking one (and returning it) for use during the uphill parts.

Rishi S — Google review

An absolute serene experience. The trees, moss and vegetation and then the ever changing view, based on level of tide.Spectacular.

St Martins Sea Caves is a picturesque location formed by the Bay of Fundy, accessible via trails during low tide. A short distance from the city lies Fundy Trail Parkway, offering a 16 km coastal drive dotted with stunning viewpoints, hiking paths, beaches and an interpretive center. Visitors can opt for guided tours or self-exploration. Rubber boots are recommended to cross a stream that leads to the water and reach the sea caves up close.

Really nice place in the morning with the tide out! Just bring rubber boots to cross a stream that leads to the water in order to get right up next to the sea caves unless you don't mind your feet getting a little wet 👍

Zoltan A — Google review

Nice beach, the low tide exposes a couple of shallow caves that are off limits to the public due the danger of falling overhead rocks. The caves are nothing fabulous but the idea of receding seawater and accessing the caves is nice. The beach is rocky and in some parts you'll need to step into small shallow streams to get to the caves so be sure to wear beach shoes. A couple decent restaurant, a souvenir shop and icecream shop are walking distance. Good fun for a day.

Z K — Google review

Wow, just absofruitly wow, highly recommend visiting on low tide to get the most out of this place. I recommend boots as even on low tide there giant puddles that might prevent you from getting access to some really cool spots. Also got to see some really things like shrimps, crabs and live clams/mussels.

Zhivago X — Google review

Nice free activity. Get there close to low tide to see the caves best. Wear water shoes or rubber boots. There is a stream you must cross and the ground around the rocks is slippery and wet. Do not dawdle or you may be caught by the ocean coming back in.

Patrick K — Google review

Definitely worth a stop.1.Make sure you wear the right shoes so you can walk on rocks.2. Wear shorts so you can walk on water.Beautiful sea and rocks. The caves are alright. Overall nothing special inside the caves but no regrets walking next to the sea, on the warm water and seeing the caves. Kids had fun playing in the water!

Beautiful Rocks! A short walk with nice view when being around Fundy Bay!

Decided on a day trip to St. Martins Sea Caves. Always a beautiful spot. We do this trip every year... after the Sea Cave, we normally have lunch at one of the seaside restaurants and then we head out thru the Fundy Trail...

Michel B — Google review

After years of trying to see the caves at low tide, we finally made it! Such a neat experience! We got there about a hour after low tide so our feet got a bit wet crossing over ( wearing sandles) but so worth it! Very neat to see the different layers of rock and earth! Enjoyed exploring! Plus there is little restaurant in the parking lot

Sylvia H — Google review

Wow this is beautiful place. Totally recommend if you want to see the amazing tides of the Bay of Fundy. Great food too in the area.

Alejandro — Google review

Beautiful spot, ample parking if you come before 11 on the weekend, and lots of little restaurants and ice cream nearby to enjoy before/after you walk at low tide. The pebble beach was a little bit treacherous for me in slides, I would probably go with closed toe shoes next time that won’t get rocks stuck in my shoes next time.

Erin D — Google review

This is a spectacular location. We couldn't get right into the caves because there was water preventing us. Had superb seafood chowder. Just a great spot

Henry F — Google review

Fabulous biology lesson here regarding Fundy Bay tides. Great chance to walk the sea floor during low tide then come back at high tide to see the difference in water levels. Be careful of the slippery wet rocks! Free entry. Nice restaurant nearby for a drink.

Tyler D — Google review

This is something to see. If you time it right, go for high tide and stick around for low tide. It's so worth the wait. Stunning is all I can say!

Michelle B — Google review

Went to see the Caves on a cruise ship excursion that was 3 hours in length. Since a full tide change is 6 hours and all I saw was mid high to mid low exposure. When you visit the Bay of Fundy you should allocate a full tidal change to get a feel for how far and fast the tides are here. Disappointed, unable to explore caves. but it was a very cool, scenic area none the less.

G S — Google review

I guess it’s cool but my mind wasn’t blown. It’s a nice walk at low tide. Lots of parking, cute town nearby (but everything is closed in the winter).

Suzanne R — Google review

Doing a quick search online for when the low tides are made it so that we got there and were able to experience the caves right away! Very cool spot! You'll probably get your feet wet, so come prepared!

Rachel O — Google review

Went at low tide and walked way out into the bay! Had to cross a small stream of water to get to the "caves"! Boy, it was cold! I was a little disappointed as they are really not caves, but just erosion produced openings in the rock walls. They don't go very far back either and are roped off because of rocks falling down. But, it was fun to walk so far out into the bay where the water was at high tide!! Wear water shoes as you do have to walk in the water to get over to the "caves". Depending on when you go, the stream can be as low as ankle deep and then just gets higher the closer to high tide you are. Try to get there an hour before low tide so you'll have plenty of time to explore the area before the water starts coming back in!!

Rena C — Google review

A wonderful and scenic place to visit. It’s both beautiful and different at low tide and at high tide.It must be experienced at both times.Plus lots of cute shops and restaurants in the area to visit.

Arlene C — Google review

Beautiful spot and it was low tide at the time so we were able to walk so close to the caves. But watched a lady, in the cave, almost get killed by a falling piece of rock from on top of the cave. Scary experience. Will never try to get close again. Do not attempt to enter the caves if you go!

Shellers 2 — Google review

St Martin’s Sea Caves are always beautiful. At low tide you can access the caves and climb around. A free, beautiful place to explore. The Caves restaurant is amazing afterward!

Brittany G — Google review

It's a really good place to see the sea caves and watch high tides. There are few restaurants by the beach to eat and enjoy the view.

Hardeep G — Google review

Beautiful mid February day. Very quiet only one other explorer. Nothing open. Make sure you don't require a washroom.

Paul S — Google review

Short drive from Saint John along a scenic route - well worth it! As with any location along the Bay of Fundy, make sure to check the tide schedule before arriving - you'd want to be there at low tide and stay a little longer to see the tides come in. Fascinating.Take a stroll along the exposed shore, search for green crabs and baby shrimp in the shallow pools left by the retreating water! The cave formations are very impressive. To get there from the rocky beach, you'll cross a fresh water stream which is exposed at low tide (it can get more than ankle deep) - bring a change of shoes in case.Plenty of parking, and a couple of great restaurants in case you get hungry.

SAC — Google review

We rented a car instead so we didn't have the tour guides looming over us the whole time. They were being shouted down from exploring while we got our shoes wet exploring the caves as the tide came in

The S — Google review

Be prepared to walk on uneven rocks and through water if you want to get closer (definitely worth it!). Cute shop and ice cream place up the street and delicious lobster roll a little further (bright and colourful, can't miss it)

R W — Google review

Great place to visit during the world's largest tides. Two huge caves make perfect tourist attractions for everyone. Kids to adults.Situated near 2 famous restaurants. You can park free of charge. And a small walk on the beach during low tide time. Or try kayaking when high tide hits.Make sure to wear boots or water shoes even at low tide. You have to cross a small creek to visit inside caves. Can be muddy. But it looks amazing.Support saint Martin's local business while visiting.

Steve J — Google review

The St. Martin’s sea caves ended up being a highlight in our east coast trip! The restaurant along the shore had some of the best seafood chowder we had, and you can’t beat the view. Super cool.

Sarah F — Google review

The sea caves are definitely worth checking out. Make sure to plan for low tide to be able to walk around the sea floor, and bring sturdy shoes! No restrooms near except for in the restaurant, but check the hours because if you are there when they are closed you may have to duck behind a rock in a tide pool....

Vanessa B — Google review

Farmers' market

Shopping

The Saint John City Market is a historic market that opened in 1876. It features local produce, meats, seafood, and crafts.

This is a charming local neighborhood market. It's not very big and some of the stands are not even filled. But it does have fresh produce and souvenirs that draws local as well as tourist.

Michael P — Google review

One of the oldest farmers market in Canada. Lots of history here. Love the architecture and interior space. However when I visited in October 2021, there were only a few vegetable vendors. Mostly vendors selling arts and crafts. I assume it is due to the pandemic, and business has been slower than usual and it is the end of the growing season.

Villagemayor — Google review

Great place to shop local products. I took some nice photos to add my social media. I am uploading here too..

Kaushalya R — Google review

This is one of the oldest city markets in Canada. I had the opportunity to visit there while on a cruise excursion. I could have spent most of the day there. It is a collage a vendors with various kinds of merchandise. There was some beautiful artwork and creative handmade crafts. I purchased some handmade items for Christmas gifts from a woman that traveled from Prince Edward Island. There is a friendly and inviting vibe in the market.

TJ T — Google review

It is a cute little market tucked away in st John's endless market square signage. It is one of the few places that was alive in this seemly sleepy town during the weekday.

⭐A Must-Stop for Food, Souvenirs, Art, and More!⭐If you're looking to get a "taste of St. John," you'd better visit the City Market. This covered market is a short walk from King's Square, and filled with an impressive variety of food, art, clothing, and vendors. You're certain to find a unique souvenir here, and enjoy a taste of everything from fresh fruit to fresh fish. Both Lebanese and Japanese cuisine can be savored here. There are bathrooms for your convenience. The walkways can be a bit narrow during crowded times, but the hustle-and-bustle adds a excitement and energy to the experience. Don't miss it when you visit St. John!

Casey C — Google review

Quite an interesting market to visit. There were a lot of vendors. This was our first time, and one can only assume pre Coronavirus this place would have been packed. There's a lot of vendors here, ranging from food, to clothes and everything in between. One of the few places I've seen with some British treats in Saint John for anyone from overseas craving a little taste of home.

Fabulous. A historic market building AND a lively working market AND fresh coffee?!? I am in!! There was a good assortment of food and local and/or touristy items available. Being a cruise ship visitor I couldn’t buy any fresh food to take back with me but I certainly wanted to. I think my favorite thing was the dulse that they had for sale!!!

A very eclectic group of artisans, restaurants, delis, and retailers grouped within a historic building located on the city's square in the downtown area. You can buy a cup of coffee before perusing all the various artist's booths, and then have a sit down lunch of various cuisines from around the world.

Peter P — Google review

A fun place with many vendors. Grab some ingredients to cook at home, or get some prepared food from several restaurant vendors to eat in the outdoor seating area. Had great fried chicken from Chicken by Felix. Bought some whimsical art from Natasha Pilotte.

Chuck L — Google review

This place... the smells, the fresh veggies and fruits, bakery smells, and... the artists. I was in sensory overload with all of the handmade goods this market had to offer + handicap accessible.

Cindi M — Google review

Anyone visiting Saint John should be sure to visit the Saint John City Market. There is a lot to see here. You can buy articles made by local artists, pick up some fresh seafood, beef, fresh produce, etc. The architecture of the building along is worth the trip to view.Finding a parking space might take a bit of effort if you are not familiar with the area.

Kenneth D — Google review

Must have been a slow time as not all the stalls are open during the lunch hour rush. A lot of food selections of all ethnicities to choice from like deli, Korean and Lebanese. We opted for the Korean and can say not the best we’ve had as it was cafeteria style and pre-made food. The chicken and rice cakes was in a sweet and sour sauce that was just too sweet and no heat.Overall the building itself is historic itself and take the time to look up and around the building.Saving gave of this place is Uncorked! A must stop to all things NB in a glass or two.

Minh L — Google review

Touristy of course, but mixed in are some truly original items. And of course, because of the historical significance, definitely worth the time to visit. Avoid the cruise ship 🚢 crowds if you can.

Winchester D — Google review

I have seen this place in the past and it was always busy. As for today, it looks half empty. Yes, it wasn't a weekend day. Was a little disappointing. We came here for lunch. My daughter and I had Korean while my wife had a smoke meat sandwich. Both were delicious.

Awesome ferry ride and super great customer service from Digby NS. We had an error in our phone booking which was handled super fast. Ferry says to arrive one hour ahead. You do need to be there. They were great about changing our return date. They have two movies to watch (children/general adult). One crossing only has the cafeteria style restaurants open the other crossing had the cafe and cafeteria openThere is a van for walkers to take and an elevator if mobility is an issue. There are stairs and an escalator for others.Lounging areas are clean, washrooms are clean. There are two outside decks. No chairs in the winter months. There looks to be a bar and probably seating in the warmer months. Our crossing was smooth sailing.

Karen B — Google review

Very friendly staff, really enjoyed our return trip over to NS . My only question is why there are no options for Celiac people at the cafeteria? Yes fruit and drinks are available but no meals. I am sure others have had this problem as well.

Great experience. I recently delivered kayaks to Digby for some customers in NS. While I wasnt impressed that I could not drop them on the car deck as cargo (other ferry services in the area allow this), I understand the liability issues the company is trying to avoid. The staff were very helpful and professional. On the Digby side one staff member insisted that he help my customers get the kayaks on their roof so I could get back on the very. That is excellent customer service and good business sense getting customers back on board in a timely fashion, limiting delays.I bought a meal in the cafe (one of a couple aboard) and was very surprised that the prices were NOT outrageous. They were actually very reasonable!I would definitely recommend using Bay Ferries and the MV Fundy Rose for and travel to southern NS.

J C — Google review

On a summer day, we enjoyed a walk on ride to Digby, boat is clean and well kept. Very nice views on a clear day. Enjoy the top deck where there is a bar/cantine. Inside there is 2 other cantines with Java moose coffee, all prices are reasonable and comparable to off boat.

Irving Nature Park is an expansive coastal park spanning 600 acres, featuring a range of amenities and attractions for visitors to enjoy. There are lookout points, picnic sites with grills, and a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk that passes over salt marshes - a great spot for birdwatchers. Furthermore, the park boasts six eco-systems that have been carefully preserved and optimized for public enjoyment. Visitors can explore eight walking trails of varying lengths through the lush forest and along the water's edge.

Probably the best trail I have ever walked on. It is well maintained, have staff driving through the park for monitoring, beautiful views, and the foliage smells so good. There are gravel flatter trails to walk, as well as paths through the forest that walks along side the water. Would definitely recommend visiting here.

Abby F — Google review

One of the best maintained parks in St. John and very scenic too. Main gravel road branches out into different circuits with varying lengths and difficulty levels, there's something for everyone. Big parking space at the main gate and smaller parking lots across the nature park so you can stop right next to the trail you want to hike. There are some looking points almost on every trail, overlooking the bay. Great to watch the tide turn. Bbq areas and portable toilets are across the park.

The combination of pine scented air and briny sea air is salve to the soul. This place is peaceful and quiet. I saw seven deer throughout my two hours there! Hiking trails are well kept and relatively easy. Picnic tables and benches throughout for a rest. I love how you get forest, beach, views of the sea, salt marsh, and rocky terrain all in one place. This park is a gem!

This place is such a gem. We spent about 3 hours in the park walking a couple of loops as we tackled the Squirrel and Heron trails that go entirely around the perimeter of the park. You go from being surrounded by trees and quiet to sections that just open up to beautiful views of the water. It was a cool way to take in nature, get some exercise, and get away from our phones. Also to note is how well-maintained the park is! No garbage on the ground and the bathrooms we stopped at were fine (stocked with TP and hand sanitizer). One thing that made our experience special was coming across a group that was having a small community BBQ and they invited us to join before we moved on. We obviously appreciated the offer for some snacks and drinks, but always love being able to connect with locals and talk about what it’s really like to live where we’re visiting. They were such a welcoming group and we loved meeting them!

Just a beautiful park! What a great surprise for an unexpected getaway. I drove across the border from Maine for an adventure with my daughter and I sure found one. Trails along the coast are beautiful. Lots of little stops along the way to rest and take great pictures. Many spots for an impromptu picnic and great barbecue spots. I will definitely do it again and again!!

Amazing place, amazing views. The feeling of being surrounded by nature is incredible. The mosquitoes were tough, but I still recommend it 100% for a nice and easy hike.

One of the best place in Saint John to visit. It has a beautiful view and places to park your car and do barbecue. This park also has walking trails. I would say it is a well maintained park hence lots of people using it. Overall one of the highly recommended place to visit in Saint John New Brunswick

Was our first time visiting today, loved that we had water views the entire hike! We did the frog trail, highly recommend!

Excellent location just outside the city offers a very welcoming first impression of the area. There are multiple areas, trails and entrances so if you want to see it all, but are somewhat short on time, it's best to plan your routes. If you plan accordingly, you can also see the rise and fall of the tides. 600 acres comprising of a children's park, beach, forests, BBQ pits and picnic tables coupled with various activities throughout the year. It's a nice break from the more industrial feel of the main city area in Saint John.

I love this place it’s one of our family favourites. Me and my bf even go at night with flash lights it’s so peaceful.

Genevieve S — Google review

What a beautiful park! Had a really nice afternoon stroll! You can do tons of things! Bbq, bike, swim, run, job etc.All I can say is if you’ve not visited this place, then you better drive now.

Justine S — Google review

A lovely walk or drive through a peacefully quiet park. There are numerous spots along the drive if you wish to pull over, park, eat, barbecue, use the washroom, or walk down to the water.Free entry so I don't see why you wouldn't want to spend a couple hours here.

Chris U — Google review

Drove through the loop, stopped at all possible stops. This is a well kept nature reserve. Some of the stops had beautiful views. There are many trails. Was told that when the tide is low, seals can be seen on the rocks. Unfortunately the tide was high when we were there, did not see any seals.

Patrick X — Google review

Very clean and scenic views and trails along the Bay of Fundy in St. John.

Chris B — Google review

All around great area to hike, bike, or drive around in! Tons of picturesque views of the ocean and nature. You could easily spend the entire day here adventuring around this peninsula. The close proximity to the city is also a huge bonus!

Emerson B — Google review

Beautiful trail through dense forests, with spots to park, washrooms, and coastal lookout points along the way.

Allison D — Google review

The park is adorned with stunning lookout points that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Its walking trails are not only easy to navigate but also offer a delightful experience as you explore the natural beauty of the area. Additionally, the park boasts excellent picnic areas, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch amidst nature.During our visit, despite the overcast skies in the afternoon, the experience was nothing short of wonderful. A highlight was a surprise visit from a seal at the southern tip of the park, adding a touch of wildlife magic to our day. The views throughout the park are spectacular, ensuring that every moment spent here is one to remember. Whether you're a nature lover or simply looking for a peaceful escape, Irving Nature Park is definitely worth a visit.

A peaceful spot to go for a drive, walk, run, bike ride....Trails and pit stops aplenty, outhouses available throughout,as well as gathering places for friends and family. There are lookout spots with Gorgeous views of the water, and a cookout area with grills.Along the way there's never a shortage of wildlife.

Excellent place to enjoy the day. There's some beautiful lookout points, easy and fun walking trails and great areas for picnics. We were unfortunate to have a cloudy afternoon but we managed to have a seal visit on the southern point of the park. Enjoy the view!

Amazing place to bring your family, friends, and dogs. You can have a picnic here and do some hiking or bike trails.

Reginald C — Google review

We go every year and it does not disappoint. There is a nice and very large playground for kids with hedge mazes. Great scenic drive with multiple stops to go explore. Very well maintained and has picnic tables and BBQ's. Wear running shoes because there are rocks that you can climb for different views. Mid or high tide in my opinion are better... if you go during low tide, there will be views of mud for 50%. Nice boardwalk is there as well. There is a beach that is well maintained but fairly cold.

Lighthouses

The Swallowtail Lighthouse, located on Grand Manan Island in North Head Harbour, is a historic wooden lighthouse that has been standing along the rocky shore since 1860. It is one of the most photographed lighthouses in New Brunswick and offers spectacular views of the Bay of Fundy. The area surrounding the lighthouse features beautiful rocky shores and well-groomed trails, making it a great place for photography and exploration.

What a lovely spot! The site is immaculately maintained. Well worth the $2 fee for climbing the lighthouse interior. The young lady at the gift shop was delightful.

Nice place to visit little bit of walk . But there is 54 steps to go down to a bridge to cross nice view on top of walking trail

Leslie E — Google review

The view was absolutely breathtaking. The hiking on the other hand told me that I was completely out of shape. Lol but it was worth every single step to see the beautiful views and to have a 360° view.

One of the highlights of the grand manan island. Amazing view. Serene and peaceful. Sparsely crowded.

Ashish S — Google review

Short hike to the lighthouse with breathtaking views. Well-maintained area with many different observation points. Many birds singing half way through in the fir trees even mid October. Places to sit, enjoy the view and have a picnic. More great views from helicopter landing pad nearby.2024 update: In August - September 2023 164 year old lighthouse has undergone extensive restoration with construction materials being flown in on Canadian Coastguard helicopter. Reconstruction cost ~500 000 $Original review written in October 2022.

A beautiful place to visit. As long as you can walk down the steep steeps, and across the narrow foot bridge you will have easy access to this very scenic location. Tours of the lighthouse are often available, and you can also climb the stairs to the top of the lighthouse. There is also a gift shop at the entrance. Parking is somewhat limited to about 10 cars. .

One of the great pleasures of walking about a small maritime island is that you’re bound to come across a lighthouse or two. Grand Manan is a charming island on the Bay of Fundy that is very close to the US state of Maine. Rich with heritage trails, the island is easily accessed from the mainland by ferry. This walk takes visitors from a picture-perfect lighthouse to a rocky beach, with some dramatic sights at points in between. There is a 24.8-mile (40km) route called the Lighthouse Trail that hits several of Grand Manan’s lighthouses and other sites. But for something more leisurely, the stretch from the striking Swallowtail Lighthouse to Whale Cove features 2.4 miles (3.9km) of fantastic views, including a look at the island’s famous Hole-in-the-Wall rock formation. The path can be a bit rugged at times and will take about three hours to navigate each way.

Rajesh J — Google review

Even though the lighthouse was all wrapped in plastic (presumably being fixed?), would still recommend. Nice little trail, cool bridge, good views, nice giftshop with a very friendly owner.

Nice place to visit. Great Coastal scenery

WD K — Google review

Fantastic location where you can see the ferry come in and relax on the rocks overlooking the bay of Fundy.

Chris S — Google review

Beautiful spot, amazing views. The volunteers were very kind enough to tell us about the history and give a tour inside the lighthouse. Wish I clicked more pics inside, lots of history. Purchased a replica from the gift store as a souvenir. Amazing place and people. Will visit this place again for sure when I go back to Grand Manan Island.

Easy walk to get to the lighthouse and plenty of informative plaques on site.

R P — Google review

Beautiful views, loved reading the history of lighthouse and how it progressed over the years. Steep stairs leading down to path for access to lighthouse, reasonable $ for entry to lighthouse. Spectacular views. Gift shop has lots of nice items.

Lana P — Google review

Another very special piece of Grand Manan. Spectacular, rugged area with terrific views of the Bay. The main trails are wide and well groomed and most would have little trouble navigating them. Some are quite steep and could be a challenge for some. Other trails that navigate very close to the cliffs and the water below are narrow and there are no barriers so you need to pay attention and if you have kids in tow make sure to keep them close.

The West Quoddy Head Lighthouse is a well-preserved and picturesque historic site that includes a keeper's house and an on-site visitor's center. The location of the lighthouse at the easternmost point of the United States provides for a unique experience, with beautiful views and walking paths on the grounds leading down to a beach. While the lighthouse itself may be closed during certain times of year, visitors can still appreciate its beauty from afar.

The lighthouse, as well as the setting, was idyllic. I couldn't believe how much cooler the temperature was here than at other spots I'd visited during my trip. Knowing I was at the end of the United States -- from an eastern standpoint -- was fun.

Bobby P — Google review

Beautiful place. There is a parking lot up from the light house and handicap parking right by the lighthouse. The park opens at 9 but the visitors center, museum, gift shop opens at 10. There is a pay here box as you walk down from the parking lot that I encourage you to pay at. It costs $4 per person for out of state. This money goes to preserving the lighthouse. There are restrooms by the parking lot. There are several trails that take you down to the beach area and around the state park.

Jill R — Google review

Visiting the lighthouse furthest east on the United States eastern seaboard was a delight, even if the most intense fog rolled in to spoil my pics of it. The bizarre, yet most interesting, things about it are that you can literally AirBNB here and it costs money to tour it. While no park rangers were around, much of the trek back didn't seem to bad. Lots of windy roads and scenic desolation to get there, but once there, the scene is beautiful. Tranquility as a place. There was a family there staying and I think we kind of scared them a little, as they rushed to get into the house while we were approaching. The parking area is dirt and gravel, and the hill down is a subtle grade, but once there, the view could be spectacular. Head out to the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse and discover what I mean! Then head into Lubec for some delightful seafood at the Fisherman's Wharf!

Beautiful view even with some fog. It's worth visiting the Eastern most point in the US. Worth walking the steps to the shoreline and walking the Bog trail from the large parking lot. History of the light house keepers was interesting. Phone jumped to Atlantic time, which was cool.

The F — Google review

The views are awesome, the grounds are beautiful with walking paths and stairs down to a beach. The lighthouse was closed until July 1st but was still pretty neat to see.

Jim D — Google review

This lighthouse is beautiful! There are plenty of hiking trails if you're adventurous, but also a fence to just stand and admire the ocean view too. This lighthouse is on the most eastern point of Maine and worth the drive.

This was a great Light House! Staff was very friendly. Had a great Trail right off the drive to the Light House and it was a fun little hike! Great place to visit the eastern most point of the US.

Robert S — Google review

Had a fine quick visit here while in the Lubec area. One of the great things about this place is the variety…you can visit the lighthouse and small museum, there are short hikes with great views, and there are longer hikes if you have the time. Definitely worth the visit!

K S — Google review

Very cool! They do close at 4, in summer, so we couldn’t go inside. But the whole area is gorgeous. The picture with easternmost point in US will be memorable.

Nancy M — Google review

Love lighthouses and this one's beautiful. The weather was perfect and the fog was further out in the ocean. The museum is very informative and the staff is successful!! We hiked around the State Park and saw more incredible sights.

Sharon A — Google review

This charming lighthouse is worth a visit. Easy access and great views. While your there, enjoy the trails.

Carl P — Google review

The admission fee is an honor box (green) near the entry sign at the trail head from the parking lot. There is not a lot to see here unless you are doing a four corners type of adventure. However, it's something to tell people...great bucket list item.

Jim M — Google review

Watched a breathtaking sunrise here at West Quoddy Head Lighthouse. Lubec, Maine October 11, 2023. Highly recommend this experience! The visitors center was closed but there were 12-15 other people gathered to watch. All who gathered were respectful of this magestic opportunity for photographing.

Kelley S — Google review

We drove to see this lighthouse. Grounds are beautiful. Unfortunately, the lighthouse was not open and couldn't climb in this one. It was the beginning of the season for this area. It was very cold and windy the day we went. There is a .5 mile trail that is great to walk. It takes you on a path up to different areas to see "Dangerous" Bluffs and then to steps to look out into the water. Beautiful outdoors. Highly recommend. Be sure to watch the weather as when we arrived the weather was clear and then fog was rolling in after walking the trails. This area does have a price of $4 and is done on an honor basis.

Debbie C — Google review

A must see. Beautiful. Plus you can walk along the seashore for great views and stairs down to the rocks below the lighthouse. Most Easterly spot.

Sherri P — Google review

Gorgeous, beautiful, stunning. Trails are about .5 mile long, easy walks not at all strenuous for such rewarding views.

The town is a very quiet town. The main attraction (probably the only attraction), is the west quoddy head lighthouse. The views are spectacular, for sunrise and sunset right in front of the lighthouse. Even on the off season people still go and see it but other than the lighthouse the towns a ghost town, at least off season. The fisherman's wharf is one of the very few restaurants in town and it's a hit or a miss when they are open. They also have a hotel as well called the inn on the wharf. We were only there a few days but the owners seemed nice from what we saw.Lubec is hours away from most people, a long drive but seeing the lighthouse is worth it. Even though the town doesn't maintain it well (it needs painting), it's still a stunning lighthouse with amazing views and photo opportunities.Overall, 5 stars. One of my favorite places! ❤️

Tonia T — Google review

There are some gorgeous trails near the lighthouse! Breathtaking views! My first time here I saw a giant porcupine about a quarter of a mile in to the trail just chilling, it wasn’t threatened by us at all. Just sat there doing its own thing, it was so cute

Erin — Google review

I admit to not being super hard to please, that said, I was very pleased with this lighthouse. Of the several I visited in Maine. It was definitely one of the nicer ones and you had a beautiful view of the ocean, the islands in Canada, a museum and a cool little gift shop. It was also nice to go to the northeastern most point of the country has been to the southeastern and northwestern.

D W — Google review

Beautiful place to visit, especially on a hot day because it's always a little cooler down by the water!

Myka P — Google review

Great place. Really beautiful lighthouse. Very important Easternmost point of USA. Surroundings are amazing too. Got to see some Bald Eagles sitting on the ocean rocks. And could see the far away island views too. Beautiful ocean views. We also saw here, a porcupine walking from the nearby trees areas. Great visit indeed. We loved our time here.

JoJo E — Google review

It's absolutely serene, a lot of nice hiking trails. Enjoyed bog trail, if you are plant and nature admirer you can easily find ways to spend several hours. Close by is the west quoddy gift shop and must visit for authentic local hand-made souvenirs

Soochi M — Google review

Beautiful! Nice stating that you’re at the furthest NE corner of the USA. Very friendly staff, gorgeous art work available for purchase. Handicap parking is limited to about 5 vehicles. Very doable walk around for mobility challenges.

Barbara O — Google review

It was a long ride, but ultimately worth it. It was a very interesting little museum that offered quite a bit of history of the lighthouse and that area of Maine in general. Also, being at the eastern most point of the continental United States is something that you can tell your friends about. The staff was extremely friendly and they had a decent little selection of gifts and also a nice art gallery with local art for sale. I recommend taking a hike on the trails and going down to the beach. Overall very good experience.

Beautiful area!! Dog friendly... very peaceful and serene. Several hikes in the area, but we didn't have time to check them out. Easternmost Lighthouse and Easternmost point of the US.

Such a cool historical spot to visit!! Stop in and take a walk around, see the Eastern most point in the US, and snap a photo. The setting is gorgeous!

An excellent visit and a nice check off the list as not many have been here.Be sure to take some of the hikes to the South and spend the day in very remote Maine.Photos from early September 2023.

It was amazing! Never have I been to a real lighthouse. The ocean knowing I was at the eastern most point of my home state it was like nothing else honestly.

Travis L — Google review

It's such a beautiful spot. Sorry I didn't visit on a better day

I am road traveller who would like to take a record at extreme points. This lighthouse marks the easternmost point of United States, and I am proud of myself that I reached this point. Unfortunately, it is a bit raining, if the weather becomes clear, I think the ocean will be much more beautiful.

Hanhua G — Google review

Building is closed until Memorial Day but parking lot and trails are still accessible. Beautiful view of the Easternmost point of the contiguous US

If you enjoy lighthouses you have to go here. It is the eastern most point in the U.S. It was a little foggy the day I went, but it was still breathtaking! Everyone should make the trip once in their life.
